Exactly, people moaning about the players on the bench but who would they have rather been on it when two of our first choice strikers and arguably best performers this season are out (Stead and Hemmings obviously).

Most fans were absolutely slaughtering Dan Jones while Nolan was here and now you't think Kewell is leaving Roberto Carlos out of the squad with the way people are desperate for him to come back.

Our squad is big but there is absolutely no quality in depth upfront or in midfield, which is probably why we end up with defenders on the bench. Duffy was the only experienced option on the bench (other than Hawkridge, who is dogsh*te) and Enzio is clearly a better player than the two young lads that were on the bench.

If he'd brought on a 16 year old for Dennis people would have moaned that he shouldn't be throwing in an inexperienced player if he'd not played well and if he'd put Hawkridge on they'd have still said "it's a midfielder for a striker" and complained so he couldn't really win with the options he had. If Enzio had put one of the two chances he had away then you would have had to give Kewell some credit for the sub imo.

As you've also said, experienced players like Milsom weren't even connecting with their passes, this team is nowhere near good enough to cope if a few players have an off night and last night Milsom and Alessandra were way below the standard they can and have achieved recently imo.

The major problem with ex premier played managers is their arrogance and complete ignorance of lower league football. Brought up in a squad rotation system, where promising youngsters are never used and where they believe there own hype. Mr Kewell is demonstrating all those qualities ( phrased negatively ). What happened to the days of using tried and tested league 2 players who graft , do the simple things effectively and are organised, mixed with a blend of promising youth who show hunger desire and a thirst for goals?

Youngsters aren't used at most clubs these days as managers are scared to risk it as Kewell is finding out people want you gone after 10-12 games if you don't start well !!

Notts have had managers who haven't played in the premier league and done the same things you have stated so not sure where that is coming from.

We sacked Nolan and if we sack Kewell the fanbase will probably want an "old" head in other words a failure elsewhere we could end up with the horror position of Hart as manager.

Still we are hopeless and we have been for a very long time now last season gave us some hope of promotion but now we are back to what we have been used to for the last decade.

I think Nolan decided to show those players the door in the summer... Michael O'Connor would stroll back into this side with his eyes shut and a broken leg.

I do think players like Tootle, Milsom, Hewitt, Turley, Enzio, Alessandra, Hemmings and Stead for the most part are those "tried and tested" players but when they're injured or out of form Kewell can't do a great deal about it. Tootle hasn't been anywhere near where he was for us last season, Milsom and Alessandra were way below their recent standard last night, Hemmings and Stead missed out through injury and Enzio and Turley both played well, those two alone (and the Keeper) can't carry us to winning games though.

Whilst I read your points of view with interest may I suggest you Harry Clueless's quotes in the Red Rag, he must think that Notts supporters walk around with a piece of straw between their front teeth. If he was pleased with last nights performance he was certainly watching a different match to the majority in the stadium that is all I can say he was happy with a point was he, we are talking about a team that has lost four of its last five games.

Wake up and smell the Coffee Harry, book yourself a Taxi.

I guess he knows the performance was woeful I wouldn't take much notice of what he says to the media.

He wasn't best pleased Saturday and some said he went too far the facts are you really are only as good as your players generally.

As I said on another post lose to Cheltenham and he may well be in that taxi.

That is exactly 100% what I think. Regardless of service Dennis looked poor, his first touch wasn't great at all and I think Enzio was the only option against a tough defence and TBF it nearly came off when he got away from the defence but the keeper saved. The other decision was who to bring on in centre mid as I think it was right to push Alexandra on the wing, yeah putting Briesley there on the face of it doesn't look great but it was a scrappy physical game and I see no one advocating putting Husin or Vaughan in that situation, the rest of them aren't up to it either.

His first words were "it was a bad day at the office", what makes you think he was pleased? We should all be pleased coming out of that game with a point considering we probably should have lost by a hatful.

Why does their recent form mean we should just walk over them because we're the mighty Notts County? We'd lost 3 in our last 4 games too...

I hold my hand up to defending Kewell but I've only just calmed down enough after last night to come on here. WTF!!
Worst game I've seen in a long time devoid of skill, endeavour, pride and brains and then he comes out and says he's proud of them. **** me I'm more proud of the fans who actually pay their own money to watch that complete crap. We have so many players in the stands who I believe should be given a chance as the ones he plays are getting worse. No tactics and no clue from the management. Kewell needs to sort it out or **** off.

Is there something rotten behind the scenes again? I thought we'd got rid of all that with the Trews but here we are again, another owner, more millions spent for what? Just to be **** as usual. Great. I truly believe the Notts I grew up loving are gone, what's left is something that hurts.
