As a model of future policy then maybe OGC Nice provides a pointer. Fans there are in meltdown and the previous long standing 20% part owner (similar to Cryne position) and the CEO ev resigned this season over Dog keeping £30 million in transfer surpluses and drawing it from the club to pay off part of the loan he took to buy the club. No incoming major transfers ev been sanctioned, particularly strikers desperately sought by Vierra. Nice are now the second lowest scorers in the league. Wi the 20 million they layed art to buy this club I should think itull be a good three or four years afooar more sales of our big hitters like Potts or Bradshaw will begin to pay that back.

Pinnock will be next art followed by whoever tables a bid for the rest of our more talented players.

Once the initial investment is payed back to the consortium through player sales itull be interesting to see what happens to the money if the club turns over a profit, afterall they reiterated that they're here long term

Maybe so Dools, time'll tell i guess. Look at it this rooard in relative terms, if tha took art a 100k mortgage tha'd wanna pay it back sooner rather than later wunt tha. These are business men at end ot day, it's ruthless and business is about profit whether we like it or not. Patrick Cryne put in but I believe he took art too.

You'd have said both Nice and Barnsleys objectives at the beginning of the season were Europe and promotion respectively. Owt else deemed failure. I don't honestly see both clubs achieving their objectives. Same owners, same ethos and philosophy in place so SB's research into the goings on at Nice are very much relevant in my opinion

    Bill 46,

Thaz "forgotten" to justify thi answer to Dools when tha sed "the club doesn't run on fresh air" suggesting that it wo Dog pumping his own money in. If tha carnt see the link wi Nice then so be it.

(If I wo thee a wud seek professional advice abart thi obsession wi my pooasts. )
