When we go 1 up and then sit back 10 metres we generally don't end up winning.

Very strange that we keep playing this ****ing **** tactic.

Did we actually look like a team that wanted to stay in this division? Answer is no. There are teams who have gone down in the past I.e. Burton who put up more of a fight than us and have had no money just like us.

What happened there is we had to play 2 games in 48 hours and didn't have the strength in depth to make it work. I'm more optimistic than some others about our chances in league one. Think we have a sound basis for a good league one team - better than last time we went down - and the only one of the predicted leavers to bother me is Vaulkes.

Truly dire performance today, yes they may have been tired after Friday, so was I after 10 hours on trains to watch them lose again. I count down the minutes in the second hoping we can get to 50 without conceding I think we managed it by about 2 seconds today. Why oh why do we do it every game. We had a discussion before the game about the fact that we score goals but it's the conceding that's hurting us so today he changes it, 3 changes in the back line from Friday, Jones every time for me although he wasn't at his best today, Ajayi needs to be a centre half and not midfield but again today especially in the first half he was on different planet, and Woods instead of Robertson never.
We put them on the back foot and then sit back and let them come onto us and we just aren't good enough to do it. Smithy battled all day got nothing from either the ref or the defenders and it looks like carrying the forward threat on his shoulders has finally worn him out. Newell ineffective can't play 90 minutes, Towell please don't sign him he's shown nothing this season, Williams has no end product runs about jumps well for his height but can't pick anyone out. Vaulks works his socks off, wears his heart on his sleeve but in the neigh on 60 years of watching the Millers I cannot think of anyone who wastes the ball as much as he does.
As much as it sticks in my craw I have to say we're down, we aren't good enough, we aren't a championship club, we haven't got championship support. Not many people want us in the championship least of all the EFL and the officials. So we'll drop down again to league 1 and let's hope that's all, and we'll try again. At least we made a better fist of it than last time and next time our manager will have more experience and hopefully not make as many basic errors.
I wasn't proud to be a Miller today but by and large have been most of the season and of course I'll be back for more next year wherever we are.

Several have mentioned Wood and I have to agree. The main man to blaim for today is unfortunately Paul Warne. Wood and Ajayi at the back doesn't work- ajayi is better in midfield as he can afford to express himself and doesn't have to worry as much about making errors. Wood isn't up to the pace of Championship football.

I heard several people blaim the referee for the loss but he was not the cause. He was poor but Birmingham were the better side and would have won despite the referee's poor performance.

Overall we have not been good enough this season. We are definately relegated now- i'm not bothered whether it's mathematically possible to survive- its not going to happen. I think it would have been a massive challenge for any manager to keep us up. The investment from TS was simply not what was required. I think many of us saw we needed a couple of better quality players in January but they did not arrive. Too many draws mid season is really what cost us when at least two or three of those needed to be wins for us to stay up.

We'll still be here next season, UTM!

We've had more than enough chances this season against average teams and thrown it away, today being a good example of this. A change in tranfer policy at the club needed, this good honest group b@llocks, it doesn't matter if all the team get on or not. We've not had the right attitude to do what it takes to win games.

Amanda careful, you'll upset the 'happy class' of Warne talking like that. It's nice to be loved by your Manager as a good human being and not have any past history , I thought you knew that.

It’s the hope that gets you though. Unfortunately I don’t think Millwall will need another point. I think it’s a game or two too far for our small squad.
It’s not even about if only really because we must be top of the league for the number of games we have lost or not won from winning positions.

Not even criticising that though because two teams have finished below us. We haven’t got the in depth quality that others with their much larger budgets have.
Sadly all that is ignored. Very close but no cigar.

Also the issues from last season were not addressed. Non league defending, giving the ball away far too often and and a Keeper that disappears onto his line all the time.

What was all the scrap about in the north stand. The stewards were very slow to sort it out and only a frail old steward made an attempt to sort it while the young UN's just looked on. Eventually a bigger bloke turned up but just told those who weremoaning about their lack of reaction to shut up.

I assume it was a blame warney/ players/ TS argment
