Tend to agree with you Boingy. Austin just looks off the pace, Zohore hasn't really impressed and while I'm a fan of Robson-Kanu, he is an impact player and not a starter. We have midfielders who could fill the role that Phillips is playing at the moment. I would give it a whirl.

I need clarification on that...I think should be down to 10 men.....
The rule has been changed this season if a player makes an attempt to play the ball but still gives away a penalty he only gets a yellow card instead of red.

I'm a fan of Kanu too but I fear that if he starts matches and a few games come and go without him scoring he will lose his sub mojo which is working a treat right now. Impact player for sure.

Having seen the replays, I think that it should have been a red card; debatable regarding being the last man but I think that the way the Stokie went into the challenge, it was high, deserved a red. Anyway, we won and I couldn’t believe how poor Stoke were; they showed none of the effort or desire that Barnsley showed at the Hawthorns recently and with that attitude, they will go down.

Barnsley were terrific Ketts, we shouldnt feel too bad about getting a point that day, they really went for it.

Couldn't really tell at the game how bad it was but seeing it on Sky this morning it should certainly have been red I thought Stoke's tactics last night went back to their old days trying to intimidate our better players buy continually leaving the foot in after the ball had gone how their number 27 didn't get booked is beyond me especially as Livermore made 1 foul and was booked.

The rule changed a while back:

"The previous 'triple-punishment' rule required a red card - and therefore a suspension - as well as the award of a penalty under those circumstances. However, players committing accidental fouls that deny a goal scoring chance will now be cautioned instead. But deliberate fouls will still incur a red card. Those include holding, pulling or pushing, not playing the ball, serious foul play, violent conduct or deliberate handball in order to deny a goal scoring opportunity".

He made no real attempt to play the ball. He was out of control and went over the top and could very easily have broken Diangana's leg in the process. This was as blatant as it goes and was an example of serious foul play. Red card nailed on all day long. Even the Stokies on the Oatcake agree on this one. Another sh it ref' who let the Stoke players get away with murder when ours were often pulled up for next to nothing.

Ed: just read your response to Ketts.
