There's a real decline building here , you can feel it .

I'd be surprised if there was anymore than 7k reds fans inside Oakwell tonight which is totally unprecedented at this level despite what the official attendance is given out at .

There's 14 games left and we are down , again unprecedented .

Unless the club is sold relatively soon we are in serious trouble .

There's no saying where this decline could end .

I kid you not we are in deep shyte as a club .
Agree totally. The clubs dead for me unless we get owners with aspirations of the Premier League anyway. I can't see the point moving up and down the leagues form here to eternity if I'm honest.

It's great having the odd trip to Wembley or play-off drama now and again. However, when that gets old hat and you don't see a progression you question why bother?

That's why your Crewe's and Walsall's of this world have never achieved anything. People see a lack of ambition and think I'd be better off watching Stoke City, Wolves, Aston Villa etc.

That was pitiful to watch. We know where the blame lies of course. The players have finally given up the ghost after our 17th defeat of the season. The head coach is a one trick pony who's tactics have been found art by his fellow championship managers. Struber has shot himsen in the foot bringing in his 2 wild cards from Austria who have automatically gone into the side but have brought nothing better to the table. However, I'm not going to criticise that too much because given our budget and tight arsed owners Struber probably thought best to stick with what he knows. A cant blame the guy for that.

Our players are running on empty with just under a third of the season remaining. With our threadbare youthful squad it was always going to be on the cards that energy levels would drop.

Personally I just want this nightmare season over with because it's become almost to the point of laughable how out of our depth we are. I fear an avalanche of goals in our net on setdy.

Crewe and Walsall like us are small towns. I don't think it's a question of people seeing a lack of ambition when they go to watch those clubs, it's either in your blood or it isn't. When it isn't in your blood you pyss off to Anfield or the Etihad to get a poxy fix. I haven't much time for people like that of a fickle nature in the footballing fraternity. They'll never experience or feel real passion about a football club and just will never 'get it' no matter how many times they go to these big stadiums.

This is why it's hurting us. We are a realistic bunch, we know we have to sell, we always have had, nowts changed theear. We ain't asking for daft money to be spent either but the principles of this plan are purely for short term financial gain and its killing us on the pitch. The best interests of matters on the pitch long term are being forfeited. Most fans accept our financial constraints and the youth scouting policy seems to be a good way forward because it keeps the club financially in the black, it just needs reassessing and a tweak for a chance of it being successful at championship level.

Unfortunately the businessmen are not willing to meet the fans halfway which is creating ill feeling. I don't think many Barnsley fans who choose not to attend oakwell will be rushing off to support a club with more ambition.

That is the most sensible post on here for a long time. Wish I’d wrote it. It sums up what I feel, without insulting, and dismissing folks’ opinion.

Agree with this entirely, excellently put! The club have now missed two prime opportunities to get us reinstated as a championship club. The team of 2016 and the one from last season showed some real potential, and with both a bit of clever investment without overstrecthing could have seen us do well in this league. It doesn't seem like rocket science yet here we are again.

I think Tuesday night literally summed up both our season, how the players feel, and how the supporters feel. I can't remember my old man missing a game (through choice) in the whole time I remember football (so 25years-ish), yet he didn't seem too bothered when I rang him Tuesday afternoon to say me and my sister were watching it on the TV and he shouldn't bother driving down from Leeds. We proceeded to watch the match and I was more interested in chatting to my family than really watching the game. Usually I'm horrendous watching us play on TV because I feel like I should be there and I get more stressed than when I'm sat in the ground. But Tuesday night was like watching another team and only half immersing myself in what was going off. That quite clearly shows me that I've accepted an inevitability of us going down, and that there's nothing we can really do as supporters to change how the owners want to operate.

The only real highlight of the evening was watching Anderson cock up again and cause us to concede a goal. Who is actually coaching this guy and how the hell he still gets a game I do not know!! The only positive I can take from this is that next year we get to go to those great away games in league one where the small grounds are full, the atmosphere is great, and we'll win more than we lose :-)

Hope you're feeling as well as can be expected Roma, take care and keep in touch.
Nowt wrong wiv Non - League, I watch it quite a lot, cheap as chips and no fancy prices like the Premiership and Championship.

Not looking good for your lads but don't give up completely.
