BT: i tell thee, a kibbutz is one of the best places to be living in.No police here,we feel almost free, yes we should when entering some store, ,dining room, offices etc, wear a mask. But no limitations on some 100 yards or 500 yards. In fact I go out with my camera to photograph any wild life, but of millions of birds that come here in winter ,it seems they ,know its warmer now in Europe, and so have left us.

We close a gate and check who wants to come inside and if they have no business here, they can not enter.

A result of the corona virus,

Very nice Balan, you can see why the Pallys are always trying to get over the fence, you can't blame them.

Yes that's the good points, the 'sticky' side is that I am 12 miles from the Lebanese border. Where it is said that Hezbullah have an estimate rocket count range from 40,000 to 150,000, and in theory they could launch more than a thousand rockets a day for 3 months.Of course they can do this when the UN soldiers (chocolate soldiers) are stationed there to keep the peace ,security issues etc.

Once whilst serving in the Army here ,we passed some UN point in the Golan Heights. One sentry box with a UN soldier inside dressed up to the nines ,spic and span, just as if the UN General Secretary was going to pass by. Its phockin hot out there over 30 C,and he is spick and span.Compared to our IDF, open shirts, rolled up sleeves, boots never been cleaned. We have to laugh and smile.

While I am there, still in the army(memory!) I once had to bring about 150 Senegalese UN soldiers, from inside Lebanon to the Airport near Tel-Aviv. I drove in front with the officers, whilst the wagons followed. Being from Senegal ,they spoke french, and my french is just about ''S'il vous plaƮt, aujourd'hui, very basic! All was great until we came to traffic lights, which somehow did not work. Our jeep passed ,but the poor drivers ,just did not know what to do,but with arms waving at them somehow we passed.
Next at the airport going home ,a dutch contingent can board in one hour. But these ? It took some 3-4 hours ,they buy everything they can to take home (duty free?) in Lebanon. I was invited to taste wine on some African Airplane. Then to take another group of Senegalese back into Lebanon. There was more ,but we can not say too much :-)

    India and China?

India Opens Bridge in Himalayas Setting Stage for China Face-Off

India has opened a new all-weather access in a disputed part of its border with China to enable faster movement of troops and artillery, another potential irritant in relations between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.

The new bridge, which can take 40 tons of weight, was built in Arunachal Pradesh in India’s remote northeast, a region that’s claimed by China and near the scene of previous clashes. Border intrusions have risen 50% in 2019 compared to the previous year, people with knowledge of the matter said.

”That part of the border has always had a tendency to friction point between India and China. Lack of reliable and all weather connectivity was vulnerability,” said Nitin Gokhale, a New Delhi-based strategic affairs expert. “The new bridge and improved road overcomes that and ensures uninterrupted supply to troops.”

The new access along the border with China comes amid heightened tensions between the two nations after Beijing accused India of blocking its companies in the South Asian nation after New Delhi tightened laws for foreign investors from acquiring local firms. The bridge is located in a region that witnessed a months-long military standoff in 2017 over the Doklam plateau, claimed by China and Bhutan, India’s ally. It was one of the most serious flare-ups since China won a border war with India in 1962.

China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not respond to a message requesting comment.

B T : That's not so much for you there a problem if they do start fighting ,but just think how can China be recognized as a superpower if it has disputed territory? It will have to take it. But what is the problem, when there is fighting people flee,so where will they go ,only west and to Europe. With over a population of 1 billion, how many would flee 200 -250 million? Then during the British Empire in India, and introducing the English Language,I do not think they would head for Greece,Italy,Spain and Portugal?

Surely wars have been banned under the social distancing regs? They'd get therselves in a lot of bother if they tried owt like that.

Unless war is classed as unsociable and so the rules don't apply?

Irrespective of how COVID 19 started in China, western governments were too slow in reacting to the virus. In the UK the government decided on a lock down but did not go far enough. It did however highlight the effect that years of austerity on the NHS, which was undoubtedly due to the UK government over those years. The government should now be looking to the future both in how we are to progress out of the lock down, bearing in mind that a proven vaccine is not likely for several months if at all. While there is no way I could be described as a fan of Boris Johnson his government does appear to have got to grips with most elements of combating this virus. For the present we all still need to comply with the social distancing recommendations and hope that we may soon be able to enjoy our football again.
