And when those questions get answered with honesty, if eve, then there will be many red faces and excuses to be made.

I'd wager higher than that, we don't exactly know how long it actually has been in the UK and they definitely haven't accounted to everyone that has died from covid-19.

It beggars belief that people are arguing politics while people are dying all around us.

    Some perspective needed.

FYI nee fecker has the numbers spot on - there’s too many grey areas including unconfirmed cause of death and different ways of counting between countries.

You only have to be patient and when it's really under control and the real truths are under discussion then the government will be taken to task.

That's the time for you to re read these posts and reassess your opinion of the situation of how it was handled.

still not the answer - still condenming the goverment when they should be supported - quick to condenm the premier league about restarting when the german league are starting next week - condenming the uk for national lockdown when it was on the same day the germans started their national lockdown - condenming the lack of PPE when german and french doctors are going naked in protest over lack of PPE - our health services have spare capacity bed wise when the italians ran out of beds and the french sent patients to germany - quoting hospitals numbers only when most of the other countries do the same It's about time some people who are trying to run the crisis

Well don't you agree that the National Health Service has been grossly underfunded by Tory "austerity" for 10 years.

That the same people were told over two years ago that something like this was about to happen and it would be prudent to prepare for it.

If a government from any party was in control and had been warned about the above two years ago and ignored it then they would have been negligent.

It's looking sideways to say the Germans have done this and the French have done that. We are talking about what the Brits have or have not done.

If you want to compare then look at New Zealand,Sweden,Portugal,South Korea and Taiwan.

nonsense how can you say we are a disaster without making equal comparisons with countries of europe and of equal size , no european country was prepared with exception of maybe germany so don't condemn this country without making comparisons - regards the nhs well the've done pretty well so far but then you've got a dogmatic dislike of the goverment as shown on here - oh and still waiting for the 40000

Conversely you could say that you have an admiration for the government, whose leader from being a TE_ENager is a proven inveterate and incorrigable liar, have been responsible over the time that their party took office for the austerity which has left the health service under funded for more than a decade and ill prepared with lack of equipment and safety aparrel to function BOTH SAFELY AND EFFICIENTLY.

Why even compare us with other countries. Compare us with what we are doing as an alternative to what we could be doing.

I repeat that more than two years ago our government were warned to be prepared for a pamdemic type virus. I'm not interested that you say others were also warned and didn't react. The fact is that our government did not react.

You have the situation of a cabinet minister, Grant Shapps on the Andrew Marr show only this morning, not only admittiing but clearly stating that we had failed to set up the testing procedure early enough, and had it been begun two months before it was and the figure of 100,000 genuinely achieved two months ago then more than 20,000 lives would have been saved.

THAT IS NOT POLITICAL BIAS. IT IS A FACT NO MATTER WHICH PARTY IS IN POWER. MISTAKES HAVE BEEN MADE.
