I never said it didn't happen I just said I don't remember the signs...when I started going to the football mid 70s there's no denying there were union jack's/flags at games... don't remember too many sectarian songs being sung(not saying there weren't any)but always remember the Derry would sing Hail Hail v Rangers and Hullo Hullo v Celtic with the desired effect of getting the weegies frothing...no sure what a couple of boys on here agenda is with this but pretty sure they know the words to the song in question...as far as I am concerned there's no bigotry/sectarianism in our city and long may that continue...although I'm sure I remember the Celtic songbook being played over the tannoy at the sticklebrick after Celtic winning the league there

Its amazing what you cannie remember Peter,i refer you back to an earlier post regarding The Rangers pools with the massive signs on believe it or not TheAuldHunStand.

There is somebody on the Dees Rangers Pools link i have put up saying they remember The Fields Of Athenry being sung in the Derry,.

Fat Harry aka Ulster Dees started it aff i believe. .

Nae FN wonder you are struggling for money Peter when dyed in the wool islaydarkblue managed to miss mass failure for 28 years on the trot.

When i frequented Hilltoon pubs post match in the noughties and beyond there was always a healthy Dee squad with their coupons oot hanging on to Jeff's every word.

I have always referred to them as the Gillette Soccer Saturday Boys, none had set foot in or planned a visit to Bennett's Dens for their remaining days on this planet,FACT.

I've not got a clue what you're trying to prove here the only thing I've learned tonight it's not just your granddad's but your uncles too were all Derry Boys(just for JM) wonder if they sung the sash while buying their Rangers pools before 1979...Goodnight🙈🇫🇷🇬🇧😃👍

The younger generation in the Dee households have it well sussed on making sure they get a good night's kip
Go to watch the famous Dee v Utd, go to bed early, if all else fails they ask THE question
