Not sure it settled anything. Though I thought we were just providing opinions. There hasn’t been any name calling etc...
The only person that I have seen who put a comment down that was daft was Marks.
That's quite interesting, although it is a free site and I'm not sure the one GoogleAd at the top of the page will pay for a team of hotshot analysts. That's why I was wondering if any of our resident stat aficionados had access to the analysis. Or failing that can somebody ask the brothers!

    Got bless the Premier League!
Last night showed that a high level of fitness, a high press and a willingness to run into space takes some beating. Man U tried to walk the ball into the net, relying on individual skill. Solskjaer had no answer to Sevilla's hard work, he's not a good manager, (in my op).

I don't think Man Utd played badly at all if they played that match ten times would probably win most of them. But yeah as you say Sevilla were well organised and in spells pressed like demons. I just thought it was funny that the first comment in the analysis was 'they need to spend more money' like that is the answer to everything!

Sevilla have won loads of Europa League finals without spending much money, and now have a mix of veteran cast offs and never have beens and Ever Banega who seems to be their only constant.

Also Suso, who the commentator only knew because he was associated with Liverpool years ago, was sold for 20m by AC Milan in January as a total flop (they snapped Sevilla's hands off at that price) but as the commentator pointed out he's just scored a goal against an English club so "could be worth a lot of money now!"

Quick buy him up! Has he got a buy out clause? Will 60 million do it? He did a goal!

What a bloated mess these top clubs are.

It's football FOMO or fear of missing out. Everybody wants the next Messi or Ronaldo so they snap up players and spit them out when they don't turn out as expected. Look at Salah, he was a flop at Chelsea, he went away, came back with Liverpool and now will command a huge fee. Barcelona or PSG will buy him and he'll flop most likely because of the pressure (look at Couthino, he's now apparently off to Arsenal after flopping at Barcelona and being loaned to Bayern) and also the team isn't developed for him or his style where as at Liverpool, it is.

Large clubs have people who buy the players who don't actually know about football, they buy players with talent and expect instant results, that's not how it works at all. They wonder then how it works for the likes of Dortmund and such, but that's because they develop a team and a squad, not just hoover up all the players and hope ones a gem.

Apparently Barcelona rejected Alphonso Davies before he went to Bayern because he was Canadian. What's the betting they try and sign him now after he tore them a new one

It does and you're right but it's difficult to argue that Manures luck had been furloughed, (for once).

Excellent post, Driller. You should write more often on the bootiful game!

Thanks Sid! Not being able to watch Notts apart from when they're on TV I tend not to comment too much on week-in week-out football matters like who's playing well and who isn't.

Plus I've given my opinion on all the major Notts related issues (manager nice guy but I'm yet to be convinced, great owners, etc) so tend to comment more on the political stuff.

    Agree with all of that.

On the theme of players fitting better at some clubs than others - exhibit A is Romelu Lukaku who will lead the line for Inter. He's leaner (but still not that lean), fitter and more motivated than before and is now the player Man Utd thought they were getting.

    Barcelona manager sacked.

I have no interest in the Champions League, but surely he deserved two years?

I think getting done 8-2 made his position untenable. If Harrogate had put away all their chances in the first half I think our blokes would have been as well.
