So it's a trip south for the boys of Mickleover to play "The Saints" of St. Albans City F.C. managed by ex-Arsenal striker Ian Allinson and with ex-Miller David Noble as 1st team coach and also listed as playing midfield.
The Saints actually hold an FA Cup record when in a qualifying tie replay against Dulwich Hamlet in 1922 their goalkeeper failed to show up and the stand-in half back let in 8 goals. However, that wasn't the record, St Albans scored 7, all by Wilfred Minter which is still the record for most goals scored in an FA Cup tie by a player on the losing side.
Winner gets £5625, losers take home £1875.

Bishops Stortford away next round for the Saints.
Bishops and Saints it's all getting a bit ecclesiastical
Interestingly the two clubs used to ground share. No players of note for The Blues of Bishop's Stortford but their under 19s coach is Jamie Cureton.
Courtesy of the BBC:
The draw for the first round of the FA Cup will take place on Monday and you can watch it live on the BBC.
Thirty-two non-league sides, having progressed through qualifying, will join all clubs from League One and League Two in the draw, which will be live on BBC Two, iPlayer and the BBC Sport website from 19:00 BST on Monday, 26 October.
At least we don't get knocked out in rounds 1 or 2 this season!
Our lads of St Albans along with ex Miller David Noble go for glory tonight straight after the draw is made. Any betting man (Brin?) would be lumping on Bishop's Stortford.
Money will come in handy

So winning the FA Cup these days is worth less than a month's wages. That's for some of the Premiership players I might add, it's a bit more than mine and Frog's moderators pay![]()
Watching Bishop Stortford in the 4th qualifying round on BT sports. Why are they allowed fans to attend in that pokey ground but we’re not in our spacious ground?
