A terrific result. Out all day, so only have stats to go on. Looked pretty even. Some people on here saying we didn't play well.
Not our job to entertain the Wycombe non-public.

    Jocks it's not about wycombe.

It's about when we come up against the proper championship teams.

Wycombe was a game both sides was looking at 3 points.

Knowing it was one of there easier games and there the games you need to pick points up.

As anything against the proper teams are a bonus

Plenty to be positive about - point1, result; point2, result; point3, you guessed it!
Some good performances - have to mention Capt.(ex) Mattock. He takes a lot of stick on here, so a big well done to him for a great delivery for the goal and a good all-round performance.
Icky - how long can we hang on to him before West Brom nick him for £24.99?
    Midfield - sound
    Smudge - great sub
    and so on..

Paul Warned will have targeted the games to win for survival. Pretty sure Wycombe will be on his list. First mission completed.

If we grind out enough wins to stay up who cares what we play like. Personally I think we will get better. that will be a big confidence booster and that counts for a lot in footy.

After seeing that,we must be honest and say the quality was poor and way short of championship standard.Hopefully Warney has some recruits lined up before next Saturday because we will not pick many points up with a central midfield midfield that played today. It is a welcome three points but a stark reminder that we will have much, much more stiffer opponents than these.

While we were not particularly good, nor were Wycombe and I thought the BBC’s comment in their match report that we “played the bridesmaid” for much of the match was well off the mark.

What a disaster. I nipped back to bed for a couple of hours (no luck there btw ) and when I get up we've slipped 6 positions down the league. Get it sorted Paul

Start the season with an away win, I'll take that. Maybe the fixture computer was a bit kind to us as we knew Wycombe from last season and I'm sure Mr Warne had prepared his tactics down to the last millimetre. Wycombe are probably not representative of the Championship but 3 points is 3 points and you can't do more than win whoever you're playing. We may have ridden our luck at times but that's often the case with an away win and we did learn something: obviously next match we start with Smith and Icky up front and Mattock on the wing. Can't fail.

I’m from the school of I’d rather see a scrappy 1-0 win than a thrilling 4-4 draw, so for me it was a great game!

As the game went on I think we started to look more solid at the back, perhaps the defenders started to have more confidence in Blackman after last weeks iffy performance.

Liked the look of Sadlier and Macdonald had a good game, Freddie has obvious talent but seems to be too casual or uncommitted.

    My man of match: Icky.
