I've worked in social housing for nearly 30 years and seen it over and over people knocking children out and expecting other people tax payers to pay for them.

All these kids have the opportunity to lead decent lives. The reason a lot of them don't is because many people bringing them into the world have no decency.

    You're spot on.

I could go on but hope you get my drift...

Some may do well I don't doubt but the bigger majority don't ...

I look after my own boys. I’ve never asked anyone for anything I’ve stood up to my responsibilities. When times have been tough I have made sacrifices. My son has just gone to university using the savings I’ve put together for him from the minute he was born. Some people do have bad luck I get it but to have children when you can’t afford it is the most selfish thing you can do. Let someone else pay for it is not the example to set to your children.

Most people do make sacrifices for their kids. They are the ones who don't have the wealth to do owt else and that is commendable. The rich don't have to make those sacrifices .

What about kids who are born into families who are drug addicts/ alcoholics etc? What chances do they have? Its not their fault that their parents are junkies/ alcos etc. A few will escape and do well for themselves I don't doubt but many will get dragged into the same problems. Its a vicious circle.

Then of course you have to ask the question why do folks turn to drugs/ booze/ fags in the first place?

How do you make the world a better place? Simple, make it a fairer place where everybody has the same opportunities starting from the same base point.

    Frog

Where there’s famine and in poor countries, something needs to happen. There’s nothing more precious than life but Billions are born into a life of misery.

In more affluent countries we’re not talking about making people rich here. Offer £10k a pop and you’d be amazed how many of our great citizens take it up.

I appreciate and sympathise with the outrage it would cause but I think it’s a tad better approach than to wait for doomsday.

Maybe if we stopped destroying the planet by overpopulation and restored some balance, things like fertility will increase.

Howdy, you're all about if you feel strongly about an issue you should put your money where your mouth is.

I'm wondering how many people in your nearest council block accepted your personal offer of 10k to not have a child?

Are you saying these political threads are ruining this board or just the lefties contributions to them?

If the former, why not have a word with the rightsters who incessantly regurgitate the same themes on here pushing their political views onto a footy message board.

If the latter, who do opposing viewpoints to your own make you so emotional?

Why do I need too? It's a policy that would save money and human suffering.

Have you housed a refugee yet?
