Thread: WBA53 match thread

Watched the whole match live on a free stream, no way did we deserve that, the performance was everything we have been asking for, passion, commitment, grit, organisation, but one mistake from Johnstone and a well earned point gone, absolutely gutted.

Grant looked knackered, to be fair Phillips did cause them problems..

Agreed although Phillips was okay but I wouldn’t have taken Grant off

    Much, much better.

Diangana and Pireirra missing scared most people whereas I was quite pleased (hopefully Pireirra is well soon). Often a galvanising effect can take place when so called big players are lost. They’ve brought us very little recently and are noticeably weak and lacking in good old fashioned SNOT.

Absolutely gutted to see that goal go in, seeing Johnstone come off his line in stages told the story before Kane even connected. To be fair to Johnstone I’m one of his biggest critics but I think he’s actually been pretty good this season.

Having said that my pukka piece still twitches like a Rabbits nose every time he leaves his line.

Much better lads, give Bilic time, I’m behind him anyway. It’s not about Bilic, it’s about the 5h1t show that’s going on above him in the boardroom.

Although Johnstone should have come for the ball, I thought Bartley was also at fault for being on the wrong side of Kane.

Absolutely correct BB. Bartley does not command the penalty area enough for me and Johnstone is a great shot stopper but that is not enough at this level. Coming for high balls and distribution is his Achilles heel and teams at this level will exploit it.

If not Johnstone, then do you think that Button would be a better option. I've never been Johnstone's biggest fan but he's done well this season and while he does have deficiencies I'm not convinced that Button would be an improvement.

I think that you are right Leics. I don't believe that Button is any better than Johnstone. We really missed a trick in the transfer window when we plumped for a reserve goalkeeper from Brighton who couldn't get a game. Obviously we got him on the cheap which was in fitting with our transfer policy.
