You only borrowed my "Ted suit" once, never again, cost me a fortune to get it cleaned after you spilt your milk shake down the front, always said you couldnt take your drink.

Not only couldn't he take his drink Archie our kid NEVER bought one.

Took our lass a walk around our old stomping grounds yesterday, parked up at the end of your street. if it hadn't been for lockdown i'd have called in for a cuppa.

More likely a Double Brandy and not a cuppa !!

In the 70/80s the company I worked for had the contract for maintaining the heating in all Wm Stones pubs, one that springs to mind in Mexboro was "The Boy And Barrel" It used to be packed at lunch time and every one was a heating expert . Landlord was a good bloke, wouldn't take no for an answer when asked if you'd like a drink before leaving !!

I'd forgotten all about The Boy and Barrel and the parrot as it wasn't a regular haunt. I think I only ever went in there once, Christmas Eve lunchtime 1978 (it was choc-a-bloc) when I was working nearby in the inside market at Geoffrey Davies menswear.

1975 I bought my first Fred Perry (Black one) and about 3 weeks later I had it ripped off my back in a scrap with a rocker. Happy days.
