Your note is most illuminating, especially leaving philosophy in the rhubarb pot. I have been pontificating on why we are here since i was a child, indeed some famous person, i cant remember who said that unless you ask why am i here, you have to be a total idiot.

When i was about 26 i did ask myself "is this all there is"? after a family spat about nothing. I did answer myself, it was yes. I quickly realised that there is no real enjoyment in life, but that it is evil. Apparently becoming enlightened begins with understanding where you are, and that life is essentially evil.

I once had a discussion with a colleague about something good happening, about a horse being rescued from a river or something, he was delighted. I said something along the lines of what about all the trapped animals that dont get rescued, the children dying of hunger, disease, dying of thirst.

The countless wars, the disasters, you name it ch it is everywhere, the latest is covid. If you ruminate on that, you must admit a cloud comes into your mind. The fact that we are not suffering is immaterial, you will.

He then said if you think like that you will go mad. Not so. What does happen is that compassion increase exponentially, but you have too defend yourself from it, i turn off adverts for starving children etc. Amazing for a conservative eh?, there is so much to understand.

So your question about mortality has been dealt with, i have no love of this life, i dont look forward to the process of dying, but i dont fear being dead. Part of me will be delighted when i get cancer, heart disease or whatever, at the moment i am disgustingly healthy. I put a lot of this down to contrition, i have done bad things in the romance stakes, lets leave that there.

So the question of whether life exists elsewhere is a bit lame, we are here, deal with it. The highlights of my life have been about being in love, with people and pets, that makes it worthwhile. Have to get off comp madam wants it, maybe we can continue this.

I've checked the league table and it looks unlikely to happen this season. They only have 7 points after 8 games.

I don’t believe you have no love of this life Psaw, you obviously love your madam and your pets.

Without darkness there can be no light. Life is not evil in itself, but evil is a necessity and part of the ride.

If you didn’t experience suffering, or empathise with the victims of misfortune, then you wouldn’t appreciate the good, and the things in life (for you, your Women and pets) which define you and bring you joy.

If there was no war, no cruelty, no pain, no evil, no loss, how would you recognise the opposite? How would you truly understand peace, kindness, compassion, altruism and genuine joy?

If you eliminate the negative, then by extension you also have to eliminate the positive and create a bland, boring neutral existence. Imagine if every football match you ever watched ended 0-0.

Sometimes when you’re in the darkness, it consumes you and it’s all you can see. But when (and if) you emerge into the light you’ve been presented with the opportunity to really appreciate and be thankful for the good times.

The Covid thing is relative to our time. Wearing a facemask to Marks & Spencers, not going to the pub and working from home is not real suffering – unless you’ve had a very fortunate, bland and comfortable life. If we’d been alive around a hundred years ago the odds are we’d have been in the trenches in the middle of mutilation and unspeakable horror. Let’s be honest here, yes it’s bad and my deepest sympathy goes out to those who’ve lost relatives and loved ones but we’ve got off lightly. Imagine if it had been an Ebola type virus which had made your internal organs collapse and forced you to squirt blood out of your eyes, without prejudice. We’ve had a warning here and luckily had a practice run, let’s hope we learn the lessons for the future.

I like clouds, especially when they part and shafts of sunlight fall on my face. Without clouds, the sun would fry us all.

You seem to have read conversations with god, i cant remember the authors name, he says the same things. I think he says how do you know you are white if everything is white, which is the same thing. My mentioning covid was about people suffocating, not being housebound. You do seem to have a positive approach to life which is good.

I worry about dying and not having a positive outlook, but having said that, i should. Buddhists say that if you can die in a good frame of mind your next reincarnation will be a good one, regardless of how good or evil you are. Mellen Benedict said that he got a brain tumour which killed him because he saw humanity as a disease, and evil, which they are not. Is it possible to die and be happy about it?

What you think and feel is paramount, near deathers say the same thing. Anyway, i dont need pain and suffering, i am tired of the ceaseless, grinding monotony. Everything out there is trying to kill you. Your nearest and dearest are out to stab you in the back, they are the worst.

The law of the jungle still exists, if you are a good person, you will suffer horribly. Which brings me to moving on from im alright jack. Jesus said that if a man gives his life for his friends, there is no greater sacrifice, which he did for mankind. There is a parable from one of the religions whereby a man was walking in a forest, and came across a starving tiger.

He held out his arm for the tiger to eat. Becoming a greater existence seems to be about serving others. Science says that everything is inter connected. Pump in Carlisle, and the effects will be felt in the furthest galaxy. Makes sense doesnt it? I rescue worms from paths, birds if i can, i take in dogs. Maybe in a future life, if i am dying in a desert, some one will come to my aid. And maybe not. An example of how bad life can be. Madam slept all night, then the next day, then all night recently. Not good is it? Her next appointment is next week.

We get what we sow. I am a Cambridge fan, we have had a quarter of a century of dung. Yes there are good things in life, briefly. This is a realm of hell, and yes it does exist. The devil offered this world to jesus if he bowed down to him

It was his to give. Disbelieve if you want, make fun, all you have to do is examine your own life. Not good is it? You being positive suggests to me that you are scarred in a minor way. Like a new recruit joining easy company.

If I examine my own life, I’d give it a 90% rating right now. So pretty good, fantastic even. Possibly better than I ever could have dreamed. Even many years ago, when I was in some pretty dark places and couldn’t see a logical way out, I kept faith the dark times are sent to test us and the deeper and darker they come they more brilliant the light would be it arrives. And I was correct, maybe I’m lucky but somebody has to be – and my beliefs have never wavered. I haven’t read “Conversations with God”, this is my own real experience.

Even if the good moments in life are “brief”, surely if offered the opportunity would you not live your life again to experience them? If, when you arrive in the hereafter, God offered you the chance to live your life over again, with all the “horrible suffering” exactly the same, is it not a fair price to pay for the moments of magic along the tracks?

Our time in this world is fleeting and precious, whatever hand you are dealt you should savour it as much as you can. I don’t know what’s wrong with your Madam, but the future might be positive, why not believe it? Whichever, you should make the most of every moment you have, and I’m sure you do / will.

This world is not “hell” there is a balance here of good and evil. As a Cambridge United supporter for every 2002 there’s a 1992 – you know it makes sense.

90% rating is very high and you say the you wouldn't change anything if you had the chance? You must have lead a great life with just a couple of bumps along the way if you ask me as I would rate my life at about 30% positive and would rip out whole chapters of it even though it came right in the end if I could do so,who wouldn't given hindsight?

You are lucky. Not only have i had my own stuff to deal with, but with countless others, and its not on to describe the depravity of some people. Does your day darken when you think of children walking into gas chambers? My personality type is super strong on empathy, and we soak up others emotions like they are our own. Its hard to control, the remote is a good thing. Distraction works, i have to reject some people because of who they are. We function on intuition, give me a snippet of imformation, i know what is coming.

Analyse your life, why are you here, what lessons has life taught you? so far, about yourself.

I would be interested in your personality type, i can give you a website if your interested. It has helped me tremendously to know that the way i am is the way i have been built, and its not a fault. It will help you understand yourself.

Your satisfaction rating is high, and it may not continue. If it remains the same throughout life, maybe you are here not for yourself but for others. Whatever youve got i want some of it.

To answer the question whether i would live my life again, the answer is i dont know. If there are clear logical reasons to do so, that benefits all, then yes. If it enhances my progress as a being yes, if its about just doing it, no.

Raymond Moody says just do your time and go home, sounds about right to me.

Its my stats v your stats. My stats include the impossibility of the Universe being just right so that life can exist. The chances are a fraction of a fraction. Or hitting a target a million miles away, first shot.

The stats of the hostiilty of the Universe, the chances of another earth are impossible, all planets are different.

And the environment where planets exist, it has to be just right, mash that lot together then advanced life existing elsewhere is like a flea compared to a billion universes. In size. Not on is it. Whatever computations you have are severely pared down by that computation.

    Then again, it might.

A 90 percent rating???? Have you been touched by death yet?
