Massively disappointed considering the significance of today's game. A club with undersoil heating should never have a game called off for a frozen pitch. Embarrassing to be honest.

The original system was installed in 1985. Unless the whole system was replaced, which I highly doubt, then its still an ancient system regardless of how many times you tart it up.

Exactly- especially as it’s a local team we’re playing. It’s not exactly Ross County having to travel down here. I don’t get it to be honest.

If the game is off for frost today it's inexcusable. Either it wasn't switched on early enough, or it is no longer fit for purpose.

All that's happening there is the top layer of turf being stripped off and the new turf relaid. Standard end of season renovations. Like I said earlier, sounds like a section of the heating has failed for whatever reason.

With the grass off, checks could have been made?

Either way, the game's off and it's because A the system is no longer fit for purpose or B it wasn't used correctly. It could be C something else, but I'll wager it's one of the first two and if it is, then the system should be ripped up and replaced and/or the users should be shown how to use it and the owners should ensure the costs can be covered.

Thanks Mecca, yeah I just caught that too. Check the tractors, the contractors were charging too much. Anyone find a feed relating specifically to the undersoil heating? If as ThEaRaB says it's 35 years old there must be on-going maintenance at the very least. Wonder how you get to it tho, any groundsmen out there? Steve C??
