I'm cautiously optimistic. If he can get this squad paying to their strengths then that will do for me.

We are Notts County, we move on.

I’m excited that we haven’t gone down the normal route.
Me too KK. I'm a gambler by nature and would have been disappointed if our young wealthy Danish owners went down "the normal route".

It's a great opportunity for him in English football clearly.

I wonder if the length of contract will be revealed seeing as it's considered a "long term appointment". 1.5 seasons? 2.5 seasons? 5.5 seasons?

If we had appointed someone who had managed in this country you could almost guarantee that some on here would have found a reason to dislike him from the start so at least he has a clean sheet. The only reason I can see for sacking Ardley at this stage is to give the new man the rest of the season to get to know the league & work out what's required next season ( if we get up all the better) but you cannot see someone who probably knows very little about English non league football having an immediate impact. Good luck to him & he will have my support, let's hope he likes exciting football. COYP

This appointment reminds me of going all in when playing Texas Hold'em. It's and all or nothing appointment in the eyes.

    Welcome Ian to the madhouse.

I read it wrong about potter but still I think this is the kind of guy we need for the future.

This is what Rangers fans say about Maurice Ross.

An intelligent guy who is a student of the game. Should do well for you guys.

    All the best.

Traditionally this is the best time to be a Notts fan lol.

As they say "it's the hope that kills you".

It is without doubt one of my favourite times on NCM as there is distinct period of grace for the new manager for at least a couple of months#viva

Potter's Brighton play good football. Seen them a few times this season. Hope the new man has the same beliefs

Listening now. VERY interesting indeed and lots of local connections for Mr. Burchnall through Loughborough Uni etc.

Well worth a listen to get to understand his background better. He comes across as an excellent communicator too.

    Great find!

I really hope supporters give him time to get his ideas across. I genuinely believe this guy will be good for our long term prospects. Think Brentford model.

Contract. I’m sure there’ll be key milestones written in their. Long term progression.

I have the upmost for respect for NA, I don’t blame him for our relegation and wish him nothing but the best for the future. But, I believe we are about to enter an exciting period.
