Spend very little , take the £100m plus on offer .

If we competed as effectively as Wycombe have done in the championship in the PL without a cat in hells chance of staying up I'd be immensely proud .

As long as we weren't completely embarrassing it wouldn't bother me to tell the truth .

If the PL want to give us £100m plus for finishing rock bottom of the PL with 20 points then good on em .

I'd snatch your hands off right now for that eventuality just as long as we don't spend stupid money thinking we can stay up .

Out of the £100m I wouldn't spend more than £25m personally maybe not even that .

Besides all that if this group of players manage to get us up then they deserve the opportunity to play in the PL and not be replaced by some Johnny Foreigner plus agent who doesn't give a shiny shyte about this club other than the money he thinks he can attain .

Don't play the PL game , its taken us the best part of 20 years since the last time to re-discover what we are .

We are Barnsley and our identity is our strength and why we have conquered so many impossible odds in our history .

We must never forget that despite the temptations the PL dangle .
Exactly my worries Animal. Johnny Foreigner (players, and Fans).
“Hangers on” and “Temporary supporters” invading the sanctuary we have on a Saturday (normally).....Coming to see the Man Utd’s.... the Chelsea’s etc, and not giving a shiny Sh 8te after we’re relegated, but wanting treating like royalty.
I totally agree on the budget...... When I look at what that lot down the road spent on the likes of Mounier, who perhaps managed 3 goals in the Prem, and a few others who they’re only just getting off their wage bill, it’s sickening what trap they fell into.
    Maybe that’s why I’m satisfied with 7th.

Confirms he should have taken the penalty Dike missed, and got a telling off from Ismael for not doing so. Won’t make the same decision again.

Ismael keen to point out the contribution of Toby Sibbick, says today was his best game and he was man of the match. Switched the CBs in the second half to deal with Cornick.
Val gave Mowatt and Dike a right volley as they left the field this afternoon .

Seriously unimpressed , lack of professionalism isn't something Val is going to accept .

Wake up fellas , the stakes are fecking massive and we haven't come this far to fuq it up with shyte like this .

The only thing I can say is that our owners aren't exactly known for spending money and have a long term view of owning football clubs whatever that means .

They have no emotional attachment to the club which could actually work in our favour within a PL scenario and more a long term business outlook .

Dean Hoyle was a fan and so was John Dennis , it has it's merits of course it does but when the inevitable fall out comes it is a fall as we know all too well .

I personally wouldn't want this season to end up a boom or bust scenario long term .

A very decent player in the championship with the occasional season in the PL wouldn't be too shabby for a club of this size and and the economy of this town that exists .

In fact it would be utopia .

If we did get promoted I totally agree with what Animal is saying. Spend very little and come back darn stronger as a club with plenty of financial back up which will make us more equipped to maintain top aif status in the Championship.

if we don't go up we could easily find ourselves in a pickle with key players probably leaving and inevitably the head coach.

Promotion is definitely too soon in regard of the long term plan Conway has set, but the financial rewards if we did achieve promotion will speed up the plan 10 fold.

I get both your reasoningg, and it COULD leave the club a great legacy. But don’t you think that once top flight is achieved the owners would “sell on” for a grand profit, and move on? We would then be back at square one.

I’d suggest that this coach will not be here next season, even if NO players leave in the summer..

That day still haunts me against Ipswich . Looking at the table goal difference worries me.

I loved our last time in the PL. Great atmosphere, some great football to see and some great teams to play that we rarely came across. We were everyone's 2nd team and popular. We gave our all but were found wanting. If, by some chance we go up again, I agree give the lads a chance that got us there, but also add a little PL experience. These lads are not ready for the PL yet, but a season playing there will be invaluable to them and they will become better from the experience, but they will need some guidance. I agree don't spend spend spend and that around 25 mil is the best model when it comes to recruitment.

    Well.... I’ll just say this....

“they will become better for the experience. .....”
Yes they will.........But not with us.

“add a little PL experience “
A few Big heads to turn the heads of hard grafting lads, show them how to get their teeth whitened....Hair braided, and an agent to guarantee them a move if we are relegated.

“These lads are not ready for the PL.”
Damn right....... in the last five seasons in this league they’d have had their butt whipped. They really aren’t playing THAT WELL!

Norwich will win this League by a country mile above the team that finishes third. . ..... yet will struggle like hell to avoid finishing second or third bottom of the next season ( again, like the last time they went there .............. we are nearly twenty points adrift of them now, (and three promotions into the PL behind them in terms of experience in dealing with the higher League), and even THAT won’t see then finish in the PL NEXT SEASON higher than 18th.

There’s 5k giddy folk, and 5k who should know better.
This giddiness will hurt our club.

    SB, YOU WERE REYT.
