There is a big difference between ME and MS.
I have seen the plans and it has been well documented that the rules for access roads directly onto dual carriageways have been changed by the Scottish Government since the access and departure road from the A90 Kingsway were constructed for the Kingsway West Retail Park in Dundee.
If the Kingsway West Retail Park was now being built there would only be an access and departure Road onto Clepington Road which would cause traffic tailbacks.
This is not an opinion it is a fact.
MS was a typo, should have read ME. Apologies for any confusion caused.

The regulations regarding access from dual carriageways have indeed changed since the construction of Kingsway West. It is no longer permissable to have a secondary access from a slip road as we see at Kingsway West, the slip road should go all the way to a roundabout or to a junction. If memory serves the pipe dream plan showed direct exit from Kingsway and not a secondary exit from a slip road and was in fact within regulation.

If the plans have been altered to show a secondary exit from a slip road is within the regulations why have the plans for the new stadium development not been submitted to Dundee City Council.
I am interested to hear how the entrance and exit road from the new stadium car parks will now be adjacent to the slip road from the A90 Kingsway leading to the Camperdown roundabout.
The exit road for the car parks at Campy Nou would have to go through part of the car park beside the cinema and Dundee Ice Arena to then join the slip road from the A90 Kingsway to the Camperdown roundabout.

I'm not a roads engineer, I just know the regulation changed as described. I don't think they were altered to show a secondary exit from a slip road because that wouldn't pass regulations, I believe the original plan showed a clear single access and egress by slip road direct to the car park.

Not that it matters anyway - was never a serious plan.
