You Rovrummers had it good... in Rawmarsh 67 of us huddled through the winter round an unlit brazier and chewed on used razor blades to keep our hunger down...
Mattresses??? We laid a layer of ****house paper down and slep on each other.
Twere hard with the blood dripping from't gobs of them above thee..

That's because we had them for what was called a summer sledge in Rawmarsh. Had many hours of fun on those down brown grassy slopes.
