TGH was excellent and Reach is class. We just need a decent centre forward in January!!

Funny how viaduct sulked off this thread after a win after his faux shock at the lineup. That or he is oblivious to the covid players out of the team.

Very surprised that he hasn't blamed Val for eating the bat chow mein that started the whole covid pandemic.

Played a lot better last 2 games less hoofball and more football perhaps val has realised he needed to change his style at long last 🙄

At least I’m man enough to admit performances have improved last couple of games unlike some who wouldn’t admit the vast majority of football played this season has been awful 😉

That must have hurt to say.

You must have misplaced your Val voodoo doll, just like you did your patience with a new manager who'd been in job a few games and hadn't spent a yuan in a transfer fees and was 3rd in the table.

If i'd thought it was hoof ball and not the inability of players to play a simple pass, I would have said it. But, I'm not a deflector for Lai though am I.

I have wondered if we’re witnessing the evolution of a manager?
Evidently the style was much more appealing although Reading probably offered the least out of all teams I’ve seen so far. Saying that I don’t want to take anything away from the way we hunted them down. TGH first class again, over committed a couple of times but he’s still learning his trade, we mustn’t forget the versatility he’s now offering us too. Once Townsend is fit I think it’s time now for a run at RWB ahead of Furlong. Credit where it’s due to Adam Reach aswell, he looked quality, one mishap when caught in possession mainly due to no options being available but other than that a good example of a great touch and positioning on a football field for youngsters to see.

Got some good options now, Townsend and Furlong are the last two I would drop. Big part of this team. TGH needs to be playing though, and I would love to see Cleary get some time. Could have easily brought him on for the last 15 minutes at least.

Drop Townsend? Not at all you may have misinterpreted me, Furlong yes, too inconsistent for me, poor deliveries and I’m not convinced he reads the game well enough at times. Yesterday he seemed to be at the back when our midfielders were looking for him in support out wide, then he was too high in line with the front three when he needed to be further back, that’s only my opinion but the rumblings around me seemed to think the same, even his throw in seems to be getting shorter!

Absolutely 100% in agreement. Furlong is an honest up and down the line athlete who gives of his best but his best isn't good enough on a consistent basis.

Taylor Gardner Hickman on the other hand is a quality young football player with a more than decent engine, better technical ability and positional sense who will only improve. With TGH on the rise Furlong's a bench option for me going forward.

Furlong has been poor by his standards this season. He can do much better in my opinion. Maybe now that he has some competition he may up his game, lets hope so.
