Ian Evatt their manager wanted their game called off due to covid issues stating their players were feeling the ill effects and might have respiratory issues..... my arse! They were well up for it from the off.

Points of note re their team: No 3, Warne get in there and get him signed, left back issue solved! This player was awesome from the word go. He gave us a torrid time with his explosive wing play. Their No 5 was just a big bully who we've seen time and again.
Doyle: Still got it and his goal showed why.

Our game: Scrappy, bang it anywhere? Why? Calm down lads. What's going off of late?

Wood, I thought his passing today was sublime to Fergurson, how may direct passes?

Smith.....back to his best, second goal was great!

Oggy's run for the second goal.....brilliant!

Onwards and upwards but we've lost a gear somewhere?

Agree with the comments that we were good in parts today but there's no denying that Bolton's fans were relatively pleased with just a narrow defeat rather than the spanking they expected. (This is the common view on their message boards.) Their keeper had a good game and some of their defending was pretty good. Had they done better with their set pieces and finishing, the result could have been quite different.

Nonetheless we are slightly ahead of our two points per game target. However Wigan lead us and Sunderland on that statistic.

While Smudge took his two goals well and REG had a very good day, Ferguson was my man of the match. He is such a neat player who clips balls over from seemingly impossible angles.
Superb analysis CT. Good to read an intelligent assessment of the team.

You are correct when you say other teams have worked us out.

Our promotion push now depends on whether or not we are flexible enough to adapt to this tactically.

I don't think we quite have the nouse and that is why we will be playing league one football next season

Nice to see Smith score,Wiles did look out of sorts and Sadlier made a difference when he came on,Ferguson was outstanding, clearly MOTM.
I think you'll find that Wycombe are past masters at time wasting Tlc and Bolton couldn't lay a glove on them in that area. UTM

Too many players been off form at the same time but we all know that.
A few times there was a loose ball for us to hit it 1st time yet we insist on taking a touch 1st which gives their defence time to close down.
I'd give Sadlier a go v QPR and give Wiles a rest..possibly even Lindsey inplace of Rathbone also.

Bri, great common sense pal. Wiles is on burn out but Warne can't see it.

Worst game I’ve seen from Wiles misplaced passes committed petty fouls bring Lindsay in Ladapo awful today bring Grigg back Ferguson man of match for me today hardly wasted a ball REG again great can we sign him permanently please?
Cheio finally puts a ball in to match his speed fantastic cross and diving header fit to win any game

Tickled me after all their goalies time wasting and we went 2.1 up . then Johansson fist pumped a ballboy for taking his time passing the ball back. Bolton fans had a fit.

Only our supporters would moan when we are top of the league.
Every player over critiqued. We have. no Devine right to win every game. I think some of our supporters have become arrogant and sound like those from swillsborough.

Shock horror Bolton had a real go at us. This is one of the best squads we have had in ages but if we don’t play well every game we’re lucky or got away with it.
We won again and 3 points puts us top.
I think some need a reality check.

It all came right in the end. Bolton missed two relatively easy chances in the extra time they had created themselves, so there was a bit of justice in the end.
Nice to hear both ends of the ground making it a great atmosphere.
The black arts that players use only happen because we, the fans are quite happy to see our teams succeed with it.
What ever happens this season all made irrelevant to me when Mrs Jocks's name appeared in the memory list.
