I am quite hopeful that Scottish Labour will make a big return to popularity. That's all that needs to happen is for Labour to aspire to the traditional values of the left and drop the class rhetoric. It's what you stand for that counts and business people will be wanting a worker sympathetic government. SNP are in a difficult spot. Don't think many will be rushing to independence. Don't think the time is right for Indyref2. So what do you do?
As Rross has said what happens if England sails on as they are, with similar disease outcomes as ourselves. Live with it. That does not suit the SNP and Welsh with their morally superior approach.
A couple of more weeks and it should be clear if we have been lied to and the chief mouthpiece might reap a very quick fall from grace.

I never really expected the crowd ban etc. to last only 3 weeks but hoped it wouldn't be much longer than that. I see the dentist was blatherin' along on the wireless yesterday saying that resheduling Edinburgh's hogmanay street party for April would be too soon and that restrictions would be required "well into the spring". Where that leaves the fitba' anyone knows. At what point the Scottish public make their feelings really known, if we are shut down for months and England are open for business, is debatable but there has to be a breaking point. IMO the first time the polls show real anger at the Sturgeonfuhrer and her lot and translate into forecasts of them losing seats in the local elections in May or a further downturn in their prospects of getting independence then she'll change tack for sure. Until then..................

The powers need taken from her, I think they come up for renewal in march, if England have no restrictions the UK Govt must take the powers from the devolved nations

I'm going to Berwick for a few days later in the mth.....be very interesting to see how rural England is living.

And I'll say again bcram .....Boris has fluked it.....real hero's for me are the Tory rebels the newer MPs, especially from the north of England, probably lost their chance at promotion but went with natural instincts and pressure from constituents to send warning shot over Johnson's bow.

I've come to the conclusion if there is anything at all positive in all this lockdown, mask wearing dictatorship is that the Scottish public might just build up enough opposition to lose the SNP their overall majority. That is about as far as I can see it going but if that scuppers independence then imo something has been gained from all this nonsense.

If pensioners don't think they deserve preferential treatment they should pay their way on buses, refuse OAP discounts and request that those discounts are passed on to those that are in more need than they are.
