Better not! I'm coming down for the game. Is it really that cold in Rotherham, not that cold here in Edinburgh

At least it might save a few night time trips, slips and falls exiting the ground…

Yes, no sun on that bit.

I seem to remember PW remarking how wet the pitch was at the last home game. Maybe the water in the drainage system has frozen?

If this pattern of weather keeps up then Saturday’s match may be off also.

Covers don’t work that well anyway. Tend to protect a bit for air frost but not ground frost where it will still freeze under the covers.

The frost covers had been in place overnight but certain areas of the pitch - which are not exposed to sunlight during the winter months - did not and are not set to reach temperatures high enough to thaw.

Maybe I'm misreading this badly worded statement but doesn't it suggest that those areas of the pitch that are not exposed to sunlight were not covered?
How does that make any sense? Surely they are the areas that should be covered first.

Weather forecast by the way is for this spell of temperatures to continue up to the weekend. If anything the day temperatures are going to be a bit lower than today.
