...It's their choice, but if a job depended on it, and your Mortgage, then it's a big decision......
I read where it's only the Staff what come face to face with patients what are threatened, not Bill in the Boiler room etc etc......
Like others have said, if we are relaxing the rules bit by bit, by the time it gets to the deadline it will have been watered down a lot.....
IFR of 0.096% and vaccines that don't stop transmission and are more like short-term immunity boosters, there's no argument for a mandate.
The people who want mandates basically think; "I've been forced to get vaccinated therefore they should be forced to as well". But they weren't forced, they may have been coerced though.

I have been double jabbed, had the booster, flu jab and even the one off pneumonia jab but still caught covid. I only took a lateral flow test because I had a banging headache which I never get, and that came up positive and the PCR test confirmed it so I had to self isolate for 10 days. Once my headache went I had no symptoms whatsoever not even loss of taste or smell so I'm not sure if my symptoms were mild because of my jabs protecting me or because the covid itself was the mild variant or even a mixture of the 2.
My point is that even if all NHS workers have all the jabs, they could still get covid and take it Into the hospitals, but i would imagine they have to take either daily or regular tests which would stop them going to work if they get a positive result, whereas workers in other jobs dont have to take regular tests and could have it without knowing, especially if it was anything like I had, and are spreading it around.
Maybe but I did work in healthcare for over 20 years as a senior manager so I do have a fairly good insight.
One of my last acts was having to relieve 17 people of their jobs because of the subject we’re discussing on here. The argument that people will take up the vaccine in fear of losing their jobs is not true, won’t happen. The 17 people all had very good reasons personal to them for not wanting the vaccine, all were extremely caring, hard working and had great values. All of them have secured new jobs and the healthcare system is poorer not having them. I know a care home owner who lost 170 staff in November, so thinking people will just buckle and go along with it is foolish thoughts.
You don’t have to be vaccinated to travel on buses or trains, enter busy shops, supermarkets, pubs and restaurants. It’s also no longer mandatory to wear face masks in any of these places. Yet in care homes and hospitals full PPE is worn and strict Covid cleaning guidelines are followed.
I have now left the sector, healthcare is on its arris and the future of it is bleak, it will affect me, you, our loved ones, the whole country unless changes are made.
Healthcare workers have been amazing throughout the pandemic and your vitriol towards them Crash is unfair and uncalled for. I hope your opinion is not mirrored by too many in society or we really are f@cked. That said when you or your loved ones need the help of the system I’m sure you’ll be grateful of the care you and they will receive and hopefully regret some of your comments on here!!
