The club have admitted he's an unknown quantity and PW has said 20/25 minutes here and there.

How do they get him ready for League 1 ???
By putting him on the bench at Plymouth and Shrewsbury away and giving him game time.

Fully expect him to be on the bench at Plymouth.... let's wait and see.

    .
That wasn't my point Casper. What I was saying is. We loose grigg and are left with Smith. Ladapo and JJ. Why sign a player for the future if our future is in a better division. When will he be ready, if ever.
Same with JJ. Personally I think he's ready for league 1. Most on hear don't think he is.
The warne team ovb think he's close or he would have been loaned out. If we go up if he's not ready for league 1 he deff won't be ready for the championship. So we loan him to a team who's expected to be bottom half of league 1 ( non of the top teams would loan him)

That makes it 3 seasons as a Rotherham player and we still aren't playing him. We can't afford to do the same with Kelly

Prefer the dark beers if possible, there's some reet shyte real ale out there.
Was hoping Perigord would bring me over a couple of bottles of Treacle Stout in exchange for two Percy's Pork Pies...

So who would you take out of the team to play JJ and / or Georgie Kelly ??
JJ can learn a lot by playing alongside Smith or Ladapo.
Kelly asked to see video footage of some of the games we've played to get an idea how we set up / play and what's going to be expected of him.
Must be frustrating for JJ at times, he just needs to take his chance once the opportunity arises.

JJ is ready for League 1 cayton, unfortunately he has two strikers in front of him who's record this season is as good as anyone in the league. Would like to see him given more game time depending who we are playing.

You can't take anyone out with hindsight. Though why did warne sign Kelly if we have JJ for the future.
Warne signed Kelly after knowing grigg was out the rest of the season. So if he thought JJ wasn't ready and Kelly was one for the future he was gambling massively on Smith and ladapo scoring enough goals to get us promotion

If warne had played JJ in all the cup game and given him 15-20 minutes I'm sure he would be a lot further along with his development..

If we get promoted, we could be going into next season with 4 strikers. 2 who we have no idea if they are good enough for league 1 and possibly 2 new strikers

as its panned out. Everything has worked for warne this season and luckily Smith has outdone what most though he could score

Paul Warne didn't sign Kelly knowing Will Grigg was out for the rest of the season cayton.
Kelly signed towards the end of the transfer window, somewhere around the 28th January and Will Grigg unfortunately suffered his hamstring injury against Wimbledon away, 8th or 9th of February, can't remember exact date.
Kelly was signed to supplement what strikers we already had.

I agree about giving JJ more game time and playing him in all the cup competitions and 15 or 20 minutes to develop his career however it all depends how a particular match is panning out as to who he can put on from the bench.

It's no secret PW is considering signing Will Grigg, IF we get back to the Championship.
Doubtful Freddie will be here next season if an offer comes in that's acceptable to TS or a season long loan deal that's suitable to Freddie.

Why would rotherhan entertain a season long deal.

The whole point off extending his contract in freddie situation is so we get a fee

Otherwise come January he still be able to sign a presentation contract and leave on a free

I already know why they're taking the option out on his contract, so he can't walk away for free.

They've not had any bids for him in January window just gone and there's no guarantee bids will come in for him close season either.
Clubs wanted to take him on loan which TS refused.

Ideally the club can recoup what they paid for him, no guarantee on that either.

Agree we need a fee , if they can't get a fee suitable to TS then send him out on loan, save on the wage bill and bring someone else in.

If it's personal problems he's asked for a transfer it's better for him to move on somewhere else.

He's more than likely going to walk way for free if he stays with us another season anyway.

Freddie will assess his situation at the end of the season.

They're taking up options on players contract so it gives them more time to negotiate extended deals to some of them.

What's your alternative then welovebooth if we we can't get a fee that the chairman is willing to accept. ? FL is looking for employment elsewhere citing personal problems. If / when we get promoted his stock value will rise and in an ideal world another club will come in with a decent offer. Unless FL has a change of heart / mind and decides to stay then he needs to move on sooner rather than later, best for club and player.
