We've got eight games to go plus playoffs and the chance is still there to get promoted. That's what we the supporters need to focus on, getting behind all the players in the team and no divides. It's going to require a push from everyone together as one all going in the same direction to stand a chance of getting this club over the line.

Too many love the melodrama, love to make assumptions. As long as they use the words "if" or "may" then you can guess and post whatever you like about a situation we know so little about.

We win yesterday on the road, are surprisingly clinical and keep a clean sheet and some folk will want to talk more about Cal Roberts than the match.

The talk should be about our hat trick hero. We don't often have those.
Maybe it’s possible to talk about the hat trick hero/great win AND ponder why one of our best players (Cal Roberts) hasn’t played for us in weeks, despite playing 90 minutes for another team a few days ago?

Especially on a thread clearly titled ‘Cal Roberts’.
Edit; his latest tweet is very welcome news.

It is but maybe it's also possible for the fans to wait to hear from maybe the manager and/or the player in question before making such big statements.

I've not spent too long looking but from I can see it looks like people are working on absolute scraps and filling in the (large) gaps. Guesswork and gossip.

If your side keeps winning you are going to struggle to get back in whether the formation suits him or not.

You've just described almost all social media and a lot of modern journalism!

It looks like IB has laid down the law and told Cal he'll never play in a Notts shirt again unless he clears up the situation hence his latest tweet.

    (where's the stir stir emojii?)

Yes, with a dearth of info people can jump to inaccurate conclusions, especially when there’s slivers of gossip around as well. That’s why we have journalists covering the club, whose job should be to find out what the actual reasons why one of our best players isn’t playing for us but is playing 90 minutes for someone else. Especially when official reasons are somewhat contradictory.

Luckily we’re on a decent run so it doesn’t matter as much, but if someone is saying Cal Roberts isn’t making it onto our subs bench on playing merit than I’m officially calling bullsh!t.

Hopefully he’s back in the squad next week.

Notts have picked up 10 from 12 points. Why change anything? He may well be one of our best players but does that mean he automatically gets a shirt? The likelihood is he will be back in the squad for our next fixture having trained with the squad. Something that IB stated yesterday.

I didn’t say he should automatically get a shirt, I said claiming he’s not at least worth a place on the bench is bullsh!t. What’s Zak Brunt done to be ahead of him? Or Jimmy O’B? Or even Nemane if he never gets on?

And also a typical football messageboard. Rumours, conjecture, disputes, arguments etc are all a central part.

It would be very weird if we didn't speculate on the Cal Roberts situation, regardless of the great result yesterday.

IB isn't the sort of manager that just picks the best 11 or 16 and sorts out a gameplan after that. Very few managers are these days. Anyone who knows anything about real football knows that. Perhaps some play too much Footy Manager on the Xbox to notice or having really been paying attention since Neil Warnock left?
