Constantly predicting failure is the easiest thing in the world to do, it’s quite literally a win, win. “I told you so” if we fail, “Glad to be proved wrong” if we succeed … probably followed by “We will struggle next season with him in charge”.

I've said it many many times before, it's like shooting fish in a barrel, predicting a signing won't work out, a manager will fail at Meadow Lane, Notts won't get promoted should be banned (lol) if you are Notts supporter/fan.

Let's just say history tells us all of the above will happen a hell of a lot more than they won't, statistics/odds fully back up all those statements. It's only one stage below stating that night follows days, and one above never discounting the Germans at a major tournament.

You put it far more succiently than I ever could and the worst of all those heavily odds-on predictions and statements has to be "Glad to be / I would love to be proved wrong" Yuk! It's a ***** comment if ever I've seen one.

So true, it’s so easy to be negative and agree it’s just win win. I think with Brindley and Cameron back is an absolute massive boost as their very big players for us.
Even though Grimsby did us at home we should have been out of sight, they were nothing brilliant and Chesterfields form is awful and has been for a long time.
There’s a lot of pessimism on here but when you think it through, we’re the form team, we’re at full strength now and that gives us a fighting chance.

if you had bothered to watch Notts play all season and not just the odd game, you would understand why some are sceptical about us going up. If you stopped listening to the radio and your reliable sources and actually went to some matches instead of critisising those that do , then some may start to respect your opinions..

Please remind yourself that I and others who can't be season ticket holders this season have been for many many years before, seen hundreds of Notts games whilst you've continued to make your earth shattering statements about historically very likely odds on events. Still at least you've upgraded from "don't go to games to "odd game" lol. Some people go to almost every game and it's hard to respect their opinion when it's so one sided not sure there is a direct correlation.

P.S. I very rarely listen to Notts' managers on the radio. Although I do make sure I catch my mate Stall's wise words after the game to get a proper more balanced opinion on the game. As you can't rely on the matchday thread

Let's hope KTD, my, and others 5th placed finish prediction back in March comes true and we get that home QF tie.

And for the record I would be very surprised if we got promoted this season. That's based on my experiences seeing the odd away game this season, our overall away form this season, our recent history in the playoffs, the historical evidence of teams failing to get promoted from this level who don't finish higher than 5/6th, info from trusted sauces who go to Meadow Lane week in week out, the considered thoughts of some excellent balanced NCM posters, bookies odds and finally the pure percentages/likelihood involved of 6 teams going for 1 spot.

Aka it's the most likely, odds on outcome. No medal needed.

Obviously most teams won't go up in the playoffs but predicting we won't this season based on our games doesn't mean you're picking the easy option. Laddo himself states above he doesn't think we will based on what he's seen, read and heard but if anyone else does it then they're being pessimistic. We all hope (pray) they go up but judging on games this season we probably won't win 3 tough games in a row, that's not being pessimistic, it's being realistic based on how we've played this season. Doesn't mean everyone won't get behind the team 100% but I hate this if you think they won't go up you're labelled as pessimistic or choosing the obvious option, no you're not you're just basing it on the season just gone. If we'd have flown this year and just missed out on top then most people would be saying we'll win the playoffs. All this get behind the team FFS if you say you don't think they will based on the season is complete nonsense. We ALL will get behind them 100% and are not saying we don't think they will go up to be able to say look I was right or to be pessimistic for the sake of it, that's a load of tosh.
