To be fair Animal I do not think he has had an interview unless I am misunderstanding & therefore discussions about budgets, wages , objectives etc will have not been discussed around a table, I think Cook has kept quiet about any speculation becuase he has been up to the neck in the play off situation & now that the picture is clearer he is free to speak .
Dunt matter either way to me he would have only be here for a season at best.
Not my favourite option at all.
Opinions eh!
The reputation the Arseoyle has given us within football and also the financial state PMG have left Barnsley fc in is gonna take some serious undoing. We don't know for sure whether Cook turned us down or not but if he did then it's a shocker really and says so much about the lack of credibility we now have.
Thank fuq that the Arseoyle isn't involved in decision making anymore. That's obviously a positive step for the club but tidying up this mess is a massive undertaking. PMG selling their shares and fecking off would give the club a fighting chance and a fresh canvas. We can hope because while ever they're involved there's a massive sh1t stain hanging over the club.
Parekh alluded at the forum on Friday night that the five on the shortlist were asked to complete a questionaire and on that questionnaire were what and how things were going to be done here .
The results from those questionnaires would reveal whether it was worth interviewing those on the shortlist so as to not waste anyone's time .
It will be interesting to see how that plays out over the coming days and clearly the damage done last season as you have quite rightly alluded to yourself will have influenced how that questionnaire was put together in my opinion .
It dun't look good, that a non league team manager has turned us down.
Ive also thought recently that our reputation has probably been sh*at on by PMG, and thats going to make it harder to tempt coaches and players.
The sooner they and their apologists are gone, the better. Because it bugs me knowing that they are still around, lurking somewhere in the background.
I do not believe he has turned us down as I do not believe for one that he has been interviewed & therefore will not have been offered the job, he has been up to his neck in Chesterfields play offs for the last fortnight , I do believe that every time recently when we have been looking for a new manager that rumours are rife about who the short list consists of , who the favourite is & who has turned us down & then we hear that we have appointed someone completely out of the blue who has not been mentioned & more to the point hardly heard of , we will see , I personally hope this time that I am pleasantly surprised & we have set someone on with experience of the English game but I am not holding my breath .
Ive been thinking the same myself Shad.
This would be an inappropriate time for Cook to be talking to another club, when his own club are in the Play offs.
The talk about Duff seems to have died down a bit as well, although that dun't really prove one thing or another.
I really hope we're not going to go for the cheap easy unknown foreign coach again.
