Substitute "a God given right" for "ambitious and relatively wealthy owners", read that back an there's your reality check.

I think it was Sven who said that if you give me a list of clubs spending power in August I can give you the order of the final table in May and be correct for the most part, give or take the odd position.

Plenty of clubs get relegated to divisions lower than where they ought to be, in some cases to levels they've never dropped before. Some bounce back immediately as champions (Newcastle or Bristol Rovers for example) some languish. Depends what financial backing they have and/or the owners nous.

Nothing other than running away with the league title would be enough for some. I happen to think that winning any league is typically the exception for almost any club. Clubs like Liverpool, Man U, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, have all had their extended periods of failing to win their leagues. Man C will experience the same at some point. The same has applied at a lower level for many other teams.

Overall this season has been a disappointment, for reasons well expressed by several different posters on here. Yes, we could have done rather better, but there’s no need to wet our pants over 5th.

Seems quite a few supporters are happy with a lower play off place, and us then being also rans in the play offs for the forseeable future

Its a shame they never had this mentality when we were doing well in League 1 with Curle, and later League 2 with Nolan

A decent season, or a limp-wristed acceptance of mediocrity? We are definitely here on merit. This division is hard to get out of, but it's also hard to get into. I hope I never sink to your depths. The day I see a failed playoff campaign for Notts in the National League as a "decent season" is the day I will wish Forest all the best in their playoff final.

As long as I can breathe, neither will ever, ever happen.

    I totally agree.

History shows you it isnt easy to get out plenty of former league clubs are stuck down here.

The weirdest thing is the constant mocking of our owners I mean just have a think about who put us here the real villian is Egghead.

The other options other than Reedtz brothers were some Nando guy and a crook who robbed OAPs.

No it wasn't. It was Huw Jenkins ex Swansea owner & S African was part of the Consortium. Also Piquet but was too late to the Party as they say

Yes the South Africans are the Nandos group.

Its clear Reedtz was the best bidder the rest tyre kickers as Ray would say.

Also the crook was sniffing around until he got outed.

Nandos was nothing to do with it. That was pure gossip/rumour. A bit like the Yank that was going to buy Notts a few years ago who was suppossed to be NYY owner. the only link was he was once married to the owners daughter.
Also the Huw Jenkins deal didn't happen as the main man doing the negotiating suffered a heart attack from what I can recall

All of it is gossip as none of us really know who shown an interest.

Nothing to stop Pique as you put it coming in is there ?

    Everything has a price.
