Hmmm, have we anyone better in that winger/wingback position? Debatable.

This attempted rehabilitation of Ardley is cringeworthy.

Everyone knows the players are discovered by Danish algorithm, and Ardley couldn't get a tune out of Ruben on the occasions he put him in the starting XI, which was by no means always. When Burch came in, Ruben was demotivated and overweight and everyone thought he was crap.

Burchnall turned him into the player that most fans want to build a team around, if we can hang on to him.

Ardley was meh for us, Burch was a breath of fresh air initally but turned out to be a more aesthetically pleasing and statistically slightly superior form of meh.

Oh, and nothing, (and I mean nothing) I've seen from Burchnall in the play offs was worse than the performance NA oversaw against Harrogate.

We probably don't. I thought he was one of the few Chesterfield players to have a decent game today, and Chesterfield might have to reduce their wage bill sooner or later.

All true. Whatever you may think of Ardley, (and good luck to the guy from me), he was the manager who oversaw our relegation from the League and the absolute debacle that was our Wembley P/O final. Nice guy though, no debate about that. *waits*

    You're absolutely right.
NA has done extremely well with Solihull but he never made if happen in his time at Notts. He was at the helm when we dropped out the League and he oversaw our failure in the playoff final against Harrowinggate.
Gawd knows why he didn't succeed but his track record at Notts was poor.
IB on the other hand did most definitely transform some of the Notts players who NA had written off but for all that he still didn't manage to get Notts out the National League.
Who will get the plaudits for getting Notts back in the EFL?
What if Notts are stuck there for several more seasons? It really doesn't bear thinking about does it?
I so hope the brothers can get someone in to make it happen.
I cringe every time Mansfield or Forest win a game.
Mansfield's abject performance yesterday provided me with a little comfort and perhaps Forest might yet stumble to help my mood.
But at the end of the day it just shows how far we've fallen that I need to get my fix from the failure of others. My life would be one long sob story had it not been for Sir Jimmy, the Don and Les.

Your praise for IB is cringeworthy, limited experience, should have never been manager, and good riddance

When burch came in we fell from 6th to 10th , so he was agreat motivator . Burch may well atrractive football, but unless its winning football its useless
At least Ardley finished 3rd twice which is significant and to the final , now twice in two attempts, against Burch semi final and now quater
On top of that Ardley was more loyal to Notts , not like the Judas that just left

Spot on, the timing of getting rid was abysmal, I still think if NA had finished the season we would have got further in the play offs, it’s all about opinions.

I have to agree with that. It was indeed a strange time to get rid.
