I celebrated my 15th birthday in Traveller's Rest in Swinton, when Jack & Daisy had it. 1 shilling & 10 old pence a pint. Canal Tavern for a Black Velvet cost 2 shillings & 6 old pence, otherwise half a crown, cider & stout mixed for a pint.

The jewellery shop is Onur, he used to sit outside with exchange rate on a piece of cardboard, but got reported. Joseph & our were with my son earlier this year, so son wat sap me to speak to them. When you say Rose behind the bar Avon do you mean in Joseph's, because blpkes work there now.

I see The Ship in Kilnhurst is up for sale ELK. Are you going to buy it to make a mint on these price rises?

Ship at Kilnhurst really run down now Cam, wants money spending on it, wants knocking down. All pubs gone now in Kilnhurst, Nags Head, Terrace Inn ( later called Polecat ) Commercial & Ship only working man's club left, which only opens certain days.

Gutted Cross keys will probably never be a pub again..
As for the locals closing down or being turned into flats/post offices/shops etc that's criminal.
Some great locals ...Great memories never to be again.

Met your brother Mark today sheald, I put my Millers away shirt on in the Lukka bar now, he saw my shirt & came over, after we come back from Surf Beach. He's got 2 RUFC tatoos on his arms, he says you coming back in October, we will be here at the same time.
