So in what context are you saying that booth? Are you complaining that in your opinion the chairman should be backing PW to the standard required? which is how that came across to me anyway, or are you saying that we as a club can't compete financially with teams at championship level? which for me is stating the obvious.

PW is no idiot he knows this squad is no where near good enough at the moment and we need to strengthen, I am sure that he would be sensible when it comes to the moral issues, at the end of the day he can explain to the player the behaviours they expect but the state of a persons marriage is none of PW business, and taking the moral high ground tends to bite you on the bottom further down the line, no human is perfect, people make mistakes.

Reading the latest article about Stocktons contract at morecombe it is implied that the only reason Rotherham haven't signed him is that we don't want to pay a transfer fee !!!!!! Now if that is the case, in the situation we are in that does support the argument that we are not backing the manager with recruitmnet, the article even tells us the wages he has been offered at Morecombe. I think the club is going to have to gamble a little in the next couple of weeks and pay to bring in a couple of impressive signings whilst still working on the loan arrangements to fill the squad with championship capable players. Such signings would boost the support and morale at the club. Go and buy Stockton this week and make a statement

If Rotherham United don't want to pay a fee for Cole Stockton, then we will have to wait another 12 months,
because Stockton is contracted to Morcambe FC until next summer 2023.
Morcambe are wanting to extend Stockton's contract, but he's holding out for more money, more than the
£2,000 a week I posted about. so what's he on now £1,500 perhaps.
Morcambe have not said, if any offers have been made for the player, they could keep the player until the
January 2023 transfer window, & still get a fee, but they risk losing him for nothing in the summer 2023.
If Stockton's had his head turned by his agent, about better money elsewhere, he perhaps won't have
the mentality to turn up each week for Morcambe, because he thinks the club is holding him back.
