Bit early to be writing off the left back, though He didn’t do himself any favours yesterday, don’t forget how quick fans were to write off Edwards as no better than Connolly at the start. McMann is average, was part to blame for livi goal. Sheep definitely deserves a shot now at right back now, but he has become Cafu in his absence from the team, he is fairly slow and def not suited to left back.

Biggest worry for me besides keepers is that lack of defensive midfielder, McGrath and harkes bombing forward, levitt third centre half, nobody anchoring midfield and just holding the position. Huge gaps for opposition to exploit as seen at goals, and no one in team to win a tackle other than centre halves.

sibbald nearest we have to someone we have that wins ball and retains possession, he bought him and is not even playing him. Midfield was offering no protection, creating nothing and had no control. But it is midfield/forwards problem. Watt/fletcher both slow for closing down from top, fletcher isolated, watt too slow for wing.

I don't get how we can go from the performace in the first Dutch game to the crap we are being served up right now. We looked organised, worked as a team and disciplined. I am gonna put my neck on the line and say that Watt and Mulgrew are causing dressing room problems. When TC was here, he told Mulgrew to change the team on the field if it was needed. Mulgrew has had a big say in the way the team has been setting up last season and him and Watt may be playing billy big baws and thinking they know better than the gaffer. If they are undermining their caotain as well...it could explain them going off the boil. We now look disjointed and Mulgrew, Edwards and Watt are way off the standard thats required. There is definitely something up in the dressing room and my money is on the so called "big players" thinking they know best. JR needs to get a grip off this quickly and get the players to tow the line or they can go and rot in the reserves.

FWIW I would keep JR, the problems run deeper than him, somethings not right with the whole set up (TA) and some senior players if you ask me, how we can go from previously defending well and not scoring to not defending and still not scoring is incredible. With on paper, what looks like a stronger team

Agree he seems to have lost the dressing room, he said himself the players are just not doing it for him.

i do believe we will add to the team but the fight here will be if its JR signings or TA signings, this we always knew would be an issue with any manager coming in, not believing for one second the aussies are JR signings, the ugandan lad being pictured with agent and TA speaks volumes, its not a JR signing either. Reckon McGrath, Middleton and fletcher probably are but the rest no chance. Either we spend money on another keeper - Clark, a replacement for Butcher (badly needed) and another striker or we will go down. Thats what the Ogrens need to decide, spend to save us or don't spend and lose a fortune with relegation. need to ship players out and harkes, keepers, niskanen should all be easy to loan out seeing as they're 'internationals' as we keep getting told (except harkes obviously, complete waste of a 1 year deal)

i don't like how we're not giving any of the young anes a chance just now either, canna be any worse than that current shower, is this a JR decision?

the players only emergency meeting on Wednesday was clearly a waste of time too, hope the 1.5 hours the team were kept in the dressing room after the game sorts something out but we'll see, even the likes of Edwards and Mulgrew look uninterested which is a mega worry.

Tims, well, Hibs and huns up next. 8 points should be the target but be lucky to get any points the way we're going

I'm not usually this negative mate but I just honestly can't see him turning this around. We are going to be welded to the bottom of the league after the first round of games under this c@nt

To be fair he had McGrath and Watt playing in front of him which lead to him being totally and utterly exposed to about 3 players at a time. ☹️

Out of sheer frustration and disappointment, part of me wants to see JR punted. Another part of me thinks we should dig in and give the man his chance. My worry is, no matter who the manager is, how does he instill some fight and a will to win in some of these players?

What track record of signings does JR have that would make you confident in his judgement? how do you know all the signings are TA ones since JR came in, at least we have made good signings during TAs reign, that's beyond debate, recruitment will never be great all the time though

The team need to get together and sort it our if they don't play for JR, play for the fans who have been immense the last year home and especially away

we have made good signings during TA's reign but also dozens of duds. theres absolutely nae danger JR has made all these signings, levitt isnt a JR signing, he would not have objected to it as its a club signing as investment - a season like last and he will go for a good few million, thats totally understandable.

I'm not disputing that, everything he did outwith that looked poor though, that's the worry, I expected better from a seasoned international that's played at a few decent clubs and won things

We cannot have Watt,Mulgrew and Fletcher running the team as they see fit.If that's what most of you want though then punt the manager but don't bother replacing him just let the senior players take us to oblivion before they F OFF to pastures new not giving a flying phuck about United.
