It was a thoroughly enjoyable game. I was confused by the colours at kick off but I was stood by the corner flag and eventually spotted the sponsor’s logo on Clitheroe’s away yellow kit when they won a corner. I went to get a pie at half-time with the score at 1-1 so had my back to the pitch when the third goal went in and heard the shouts so I assumed (wrongly as it turned out) that Rammy had retaken the lead. Nice pie at £2.50 and a reasonable fiver admission. Attractive ground nestled between the cricket club and the East Lancs Railway line with the Peel Tower in full view. After walking right round the ground I eventually located sinkov so we found a good seat for the second half. In truth Clitheroe struggled to impose themselves in the first half but always carried an aerial threat and they dominated play in the second half comfortably running out 4-1 winners. The crowd just over 400 and quite a rowdy (vocally) contingent from Clitheroe. Five goals, sunshine, good company. I have spent many a worse Saturday afternoon.

Sorry Outwood, I forgot to ask the most important question, how was the pie ? There was a big queue when I went to get one so I didn't bother. I do recall having one at Rammy last season, and it wasn't the best.

I opted for the meat and potato pie without peas and gravy. It was a little dry but certainly quite flavoursome and fairly well priced. You had to queue early to get your order in but I had missed lunch at home and needed feeding. By no means the worst fare I have encountered at a match and I fair demolished it.

They're always a lot better when you're hungry aren't they. Sorry, I'd forgotten you missed the 2nd goal while in the pie queue, perfectly understandable then to not be sure which team was winning.

Our centre forward is round 6ft 4ins but is as pitmatic as they come ---being Steve Harmison's brother!

The Clitheroe coach said after the game that he gave them a right bo11ocking at half time, told them they weren't that good that all they had to do was turn up to win, and they'd better put the effort in. They did seem to take it on board.

Yet another home draw, 6 out of 7 now, Marske United at home in the FA Trophy, 3rd in the NPL Premier, the division above, this is a team I really do fear, we'll do well to get past this lot. I think Sub might concur.

I played a lot up in Redcar and Guisborough back in the day, the standard up there is very high in amateur football. Need to have your best game on I think sinkov.

Very difficult game for you sinkov, although they have lost 2 of their 5 away matches. THey are at home to South Shields, who are top of the league, tonight and then go to Shields on Saturday in the FA Cup so it will be interesting to see how they get on against them.

Match at Marske postponed tonight because of floodlight failure so will have to see how they do in the FA Cup on Saturday.

I suppose it makes a change from a waterlogged pitch Sub, and it's not too far for Shields to have a wasted journey, I would think if it had been the likes of Stafford or Nantwich there might have been a few well pissed off people.

We managed to ease our fixture congestion tonight by losing to Daisy Hill in the Lancs FA Trophy, the fact that we played 3 first team players and 8 from the U21s tells you all you need to know.
