Perhaps there's no motive or reason to leave, other than his stock being high, and it's a chance to maximise his current popularity.
3 times wage increase won't hurt either.

Brian the Miller has just been on footy heaven and mentioned Nigel Clough and Woody as possible appointments to replace Warney. UTB

The other question you have either missed it or deliberately avoided it so I'll remind you of it, so how do you, or anyone else who wants to jump in, think PW could have achieved that under the current financial constrains of the club. Bear In mind 2 out of the last 3 times we have been in the championship we had the least amount to spend, and the only time we weren't at the bottom for spending was when Wycombe were in it and they also got relegated with us, so I await your response. I actually think it looked like Warne had learnt lessons from his previous championship stints.

Look at the defenders he’s brought in. Quite a lot of experience there. So far this season I haven’t seen as much dropping back really deep and eventually conceding. Yes there have been times when we have been under pressure but it hasn’t seemed like constant barrages of attack like previous seasons. Even against Watford the game finished with us attacking.

There seems like there is a bit more composure so far which I would say Warne has worked on.

Haven’t watched all the games but that is just my observation.

Look at the Blackpool match. We were 1 up, kept pushing, hit the post, had a goal disallowed the scored two. I don’t think that would have happened last season because we would have panicked.

We are well rid. I worked with a guy on preserving Egyptian monuments. Not the famous Giza pyramids but smaller ones and temples. He told me that most people only see the stones and bricks but he saw the joints. Same with Warne. You guys only see the stones. The joints were weak. The last relegation season from the Championship culminating at Cardiff, well those last half-dozen games were frigging pathetic. The covid season behind Coventry, well Warne bottled it. Last season we bottled it, threw away a big lead, gave away the title, scraped home. Against Sutton, outplayed and a lucky strike well into injury time rescued us. Warne is a serial loser and good riddance.

Until the Derby raids in the next transfer window.
Thos may not be the case in January as I understand it.
The transfer embargo ment they could only loan players for 6 month or sign free agents on 12 month deals. After the takeover was done the embargo allows them to offer contracts longer than12 month and pay a loan fee for 12 month. Derby forum thinks it will be another 3 windows before they can buy players.

Summer signings could confirm this as all 12 new players were out of contract

But some of ours will effectively be free agents so can go there

I agree Shark, we have got, arguably, the best squad we've had in the championship in recent seasons or at least the most experienced, but even now there is no guarantee that we will stay up, although I personally think we have the best chance of doing so with this squad. UTM

Strangely enough for a serial loser, just about everything you've highlighted is about success, the covid season (promoted) last season (promoted) Sutton at Wembley (we won the cup)
You regularly on here tell us of your admiration for gru, which doesn't surprise me as gru has forgotten more about football than you actually know.
The flip side of that is that every other person on here has forgotten more about football than gru knows and, well, you get my point. UTM
