I do not get this love in with ex players, hindsight is a wonderful thing & Victors popularity has risen with every goal he scores for Burton , the trouble is he couldn"t score for us , he had to go .
Not an ex player love in with me either. I was saying we should keep him last season when he was our player. Considering our current lack of striking options and money, Victor could have been a cost effective option. I'd have thought we could have matched the Burton deal to keep him. Victor's got 10 goals playing in a poor team; Cole's on 7 playing in auch better team.

I genuinely believe that Burtons style of play has helped Victor & believe if Cole or Norwood were playing for them either one would also have double figures the difference being the way two sides play , we set up to defend as a team and a unit & thus have the best defence in the league but this restricts us somewhat in the goals scored column whilst Burton shape up to attack more especially at home & their forwards get more opportunities ,however they have ended up currently with the worst defensive record in the league , we definitely need some more options up front but keeping Victor in my opinion would not have made any difference to us , 7 goals in his Barnsley career said it all , it just did not work for him with us , we need a couple of additions & hopefully Duff will have strikers at the top of his shopping list , I trust him to make the right choices .

"Big Vic" was playing mainly against Championship defenders in his time here, in a team that finished bottom of the Championship scoring 33 goals in 46 games in his final year here.

He was not a Championship level player, made even worse being in a poor team with poor coaches.

He is better in the Third Division, as are those players who remained from the Championship squad.
