As Daft as ever ehh, Mr Daft lol. I had it down as only 0-4 by the way. 😁
This sounded like the roles were reversed, and you might have thought we were the mid table team with nowt to play for. But they offered nothing either, and Im sure Duff has still got his thoughts in mind for the Play offs, and I trust him.

Frustrating evening. The lads gave it their all as usual but it wasn't quite enough. It wasn't our night either in respect of the ball not falling to us in the penalty area when on 2 or 3 occasions Lincoln were desperately scrambling to get it away. We couldn't fashion ourselves a decent chance of our own making and didn't make their keeper work enough. Fair result for me.

As has been said, to amass the points tally that we have and find ourselves in this position is a great effort by the lads.

I think we need to finish this season strongly and get ourselves geared up for those play offs.

I hope the players aren't psychologically distraught because they're young lads and it could get to their heads now that we're out of the run in for automatic. It was always difficult to catch the front runners up and usurp them. We gave it a hell of a try though. The boys should be proud that we actually got ourselves properly into the mix because everyone thought in January that the top 3 had run away from the rest with them being so far clear.

Duff has got to get our young lads to reboot and focus on what's coming up now. I'm sure he will and the lads give it one last big push in those play offs.

The Burton game cost us big style in this run in and not tonight.
So it’s the Play offs lottery but at least we know early enough to recover.
We’ve not showed enough quality in the final third - is because we ain’t got enough quality in the final third.
Williams, Kane and Philips are not good enough for this Barnsley team.
They bring very little to the table when going forward.
Duff has to shake things up.
Time to experiment before the playoffs start.

Automatic promotion is now a "big ask"--

Plymouth need another six points to reach a points total beyond our maximum of 94 pts

Ipswich need another six points to finish above us on 94 pts because of 18 goal better GD

The biggest irony of all would be to beat Ipswich on Tuesday and thereby hand automatic promotion to Sheffield Wednesday.

Only seen brief highlights of Lincoln game so can't comment on game. The closest effort on the highlights was Lincoln hitting the underside of the bar.

Last night was poor for Barnsley as regards results elsewhere but Setdi may produce more twists and turns.

The probability is now Barnsley finishing 4th so interest now centres on who will finish 5th--- the turd who won't flush away Peterborough, Bolton or Derby.

I see our Head Coach has now been given a more familiar name of "Duffy" rather than the more impersonal "Duff". I fondly remember Duffy and girl friend Sharon on "Please Sir" with John Alderton.

Stick with the tried and tested at this stage of the season perhaps Jalo and Cotter could be included on the bench for Tedic and Larky.

Cadden missed big style yesterday and to a certain extent on Saturday as well.

I thought that Duff sums it up well , their time wasting was way over the top especially their goalkeeper who suddenly sat down for no reason for 2 or 3 minutes plus the feigning of head injuries however we would not have scored if we were playing until now , the lads put plenty of effort into it without the quality , Norwood was our best option but once Tedic ( Bambi ) & Watters came on then we never held the ball up at all , Tedic was very very poor , his control & first touch seems to have been completely lost & his performances have gone right down the pan , it might be time to give Ollie Shaw a run instead of a loan player who is struggling & Watters contribution was basically running about without any involvement. The play offs are now our main focus & I trust Duff to use the remaining fixtures to rest & rotate the players in preparation for knock out football, I would personally like Ipswich to fail because after their tremendous run it would be devastating for them to miss out & could effect them but the thought of possibly meeting the fowls at wembley frightens me , if we lost it would be unbearable so let the go up in the autos for me & get them out of the way , but choose what happens it has been a fantastic season for me especially as I never saw it coming at all , I have loved it .

I'm not sure Barnsley FC is in a position to lecture other clubs about the dark arts of "game management". We were the prime example to other clubs of how it should be done under "Big Val's" teaching and Barnsley fans revelled in it because it brought victories. Duff has not been slow to employ such tactics after taking a two goal lead in games.

    Karma.

It's the hope that kills you and I think we all know that the top two went last night .

Whilst I will credit this group of players and Michael Duff for the unexpected season we are having and might yet get themselves promoted last night was disappointing and some aspects did worry me going in to a play off campaign .

Not so much last night but none the less we haven't managed to come from behind and win a game , in such tough company in a play off campaign I find that stat pretty worrying to be honest because given the likely quality we are up against we aren't likely to have things our own way , to say the least .

Even overturning a narrow defeat in the first leg of a play off semi final falls in to that category of not coming from behind to win a game so far this season .

In my opinion last night the players got caught up with the emotion and enormity of the game , yes it was a pressurised evening but you can times that by ten when it comes to the play offs .

There was very little composure on display from anybody , we seem to rush everything and that played out with the lack of quality in the final ball although I take the point that many have made that we desperately missed Cadden last night but who is to say he would have the cooler head last night , he's currently serving a suspension for getting a Red Card whilst we were 2-0 up in a home game , in an attacking position .

There's more than a hint too that we've been found out a little and four teams in the middle of the table have taken significant points off us and they've all played a similar way , a high energy and intensity about them and got in our faces and unsettled us .

The teams who try and put men behind the ball against or take us on at football are nearly always swept aside with aplomb .

The one team in this play off campaign who we need to avoid like the plague assuming they make the top 6 are Bolton Wanderers , they are our Swansea City of two years ago and they can deal with us in my opinion just like The Swans did over two games .

I'll take Peterborough over two games if offered , they may well be more to our liking with obviously nothing guaranteed .

However the work Duff needs to do now with the players in preparation for the play offs is more mental than perhaps tactical .

They really need to calm down and show a lot more composure and patience , we need calm heads .

I look at some of the players in this team and I'm struggling to see it , even our most experienced player isn't exactly calmness personified , our captain can lose it , Kitching can always lose it and there are several more .

I won't even mention the potential penalty shootout scenario , we aren't exactly well practised at that either .

The three we have been awarded we've missed .

    Be Lucky Michael .

Duff is right in the fact that we've tried, but only drawn a blank in a few games, against the spoiling non football teams. And I know its not easy, but they are the obstacles we have to overcome.
I don't know if the top two was ever realistically on for us, but that was finally ended at Burton.
And now its all about keeping them on their toes and prepared, for the end of season lottery.
This means physically and mentally, and to be clear of injury and suspension. So I don't think making changes now just for the sake of it, is a good idea.
