To be honest the best way to stop stunts like this would be to just not report them. All for the right to protest but this has the odour of people after their 15 minutes of fame.

True, but not in support of their actions or their position.

Successful protests and campaigns win the support of the public to the point where those in power feel they are obliged to listen or act or face the wrath of the voters. In the case of 'Just Stop Oil', the tactics of the protestors antagonise and alienate the public to the point where many people will be less sympathetic to their cause than they were before.

To be honest, I think these types of protestors are far more interested in seeking attention for themselves than any cause, but they need a vehicle for their attention-seeking in the same way some hooligans use football as a vehicle for indulging their desire for violence.

Mark Allen summed last night's events up succinctly: "Two idiots disrupted what should have been a nice night of snooker".

I agree with the issues of stop the oil and reducing horse racing deaths (although not stopping it, just have flat racing for me) To say that they had no effect isn't true as they're looking into reducing horse racing deaths as we speak. It also gets the message out to people who might not have heard of the issue but agree with it now they know. Of course most people have their own minds made up but this will shift as the demographic becomes the younger generation coming through who are much more into it than their elders.

Tbh it's nice to see protesters, whether for the environment or the animal kingdom. The planet and all its inhabitants need to be protected for future generations as best we can, industry and society has already destroyed large parts of it. We usually just sit back when more **** gets lumped on us from the higher ups whilst moaning about it to people we know. Put Frances pension age upto lower than ours and look what's happened. It's good to see people who still won't put up with being taken the piss out of all the time.

And before it's said, governments have enough money to waste on rubbish, incompetence, vanity projects or to enrich the already rich but then say they don't have money to invest in care with an ageing population. It's *******s

Am I the only one concerned with how easy these people get in? The bloke could easily have thrown anthrax up or equally as bad been wearing a suicide vest.
How often do any of us get checked when entering a stadium?
I find it bonkers that we haven’t as a country learned from the disaster at Manchester.

100% correct crazyfists. these right wing lads sagely opining that people chucking orange powder over the table at the world snooker championships are ‘attention seeking’, no **** Sherlock.

It’s a tale as old as time. When people violently protest in the hope of a better world those who like the status quo say ‘you should protest peacefully’. When they protest peacefully it’s ‘don’t ruin the grand national/snooker’.
