Midfielders are expected to create scoring opportunities, prevent opposition creating scoring opportunities and to weigh in with a few goals. I think they have been doing that. Not saying they couldn't be better. As for our outdated tactics as you put it, the managements job is to get our team playing to our strengths. We will see when the season starts how it is going.Of course, in some eyes there is absolutely nothing positive to say about the team, the manager, the board. I am not gonna get het up about that. Some people prefer to be negative. I ain't gonna change that.
Ironic when two of the best players on Saturday were O'Riordan and Tabiner ...
I don't care if some fans want to hide away from the realities of a professional football club and won't even have an opinion about changing things. Cat2 academies are not for lower league clubs or the National League and just because Dario wanted a Cat2 and I recall that he said that it cost the club around £760,000 per season to have the Cat2 and that we need to sell a player every year to cover the costs...So how many years have gone by without selling a player for that amount? I can only guess the FA/PL are putting more money into this club as we would have gone bust paying a million a year for the academy. Of course they have money to burn and our Directors seem quite happy to carry on with this system even if we are bottom of the league with a Cat2 academy.
The best fans are those that recognise failure as well as success and we have been failing for years with second rate players and we have had too many seasons where some fans will put up with worse football now than there ever was at this club. I don't care if some ignore my posts. See you in the third tier of the National League then...or maybe bottom 6 Fourth Division. Nobody cares anymore!
Timmy I am so pleased that once again my post has given you the opportunity to show what a righteous, decent person you are/. You truly must be one of the most perfect example of what a CAFC supporter should be.
Nothing personal but do hope that you will understand that IMO you represent one of the most negative supporters. Forever see no wrong.
Always good to kill two birds with one stone don't you think Jimmy? I have been supporting Crewe since about 1974/5 and seen good and bad, probably more bad than good if truth be told. But what I have always been confident of is that the club is, by and large, well run and I am sure the club will have it's team in the EFL or whatever it is in time to come long after my demise.
I have been a fan since 1955 and went to away matches with not one other Crewe fan there at the time when there was home and away supporters together. Few fans on this board are qualified to tell me what supporting this club means or not..I am not and never have been a fan of kids and youth football and so the club sold it soul to whoever pays the most for an academy that spends a million a year on poor results and players when the same money would provide far better players in L1..
IMO and it is my opinion that the club is poorly run when they assume this is an academy club first and foremost and seems the Directors want a lesson in the history of this club where we had some very good players and some good seasons. And not one training pitch to be seen. Some academy graduates think the club owes them a living when they refuse to sign extensions. I would stop them playing for the team immediately. I would also half the price at the Railway and Gresty Road ends as it nigh impossible to see the match as good as the main stand central area. I would also stop the overnight stays when the team travels not that far away. How much does that cost the club? Downgrade the academy, reduce the management staff to one and save a load of money and all the above will provide a better well run football club instead of a kids play area..
Its strange that we had one of the poorest football seasons in our history two seasons ago and yet not one of you apart from me and two other fans could see what was wrong and still is...IF you are a serious about being a true fan, then please advise the Bpard what needs doing, like now and stop congratulating the Board for their incompetence...The only conclusion is they know nothing about football as well as the many fans that go to matches..
I saw very good players and was a decent player myself and most academy graduates would not make the grade in the teams back then...Its actually why the players of today cannot play the game and would prefer to pass the ball.....You know, what the coaches tell them to do the whole time..Even George Best and Bobby Charlton would be second rate with modern academies where the coaches are really second rate and cannot tell naturally gifted players how to play this very simple game. IE get the ball and head for the opposition goal. We do the opposite..
So many people seem to be wrong. So few people are always right. It's a shame that figures for away support in the dim and distant past were never available. Imagine how humiliating it would have been knowing you only had one supporter in the crowd. Think also of those determined groups of people who did actually attend all those away games who have suddenly been written out of history.
Why do some people just want to constantly do the club down? Why do the majority of us who truly support our team actually give any kind of credence or credibility to those whose sole satisfaction in life is slagging off our team?
I know! I know! You've all got the right to have opinions and I agree you should be able to express them.
However, those people have to realise that us giving OUR opinions is not the same as denying you your rights.
But..flat-earthers, conspiracy theorists and seers of little green men also have opinions and have a right to believe in them. But that doesn't make anything they believe true!
Just saying!
