We are conceding silly goals though, more often than not down that right side!
Surely Collins can see that Williams, who was YET AGAIN caught out for Moncur to set up their goal needs to move to his usual right wing back position, as I said after the Bolton game he drifts their every game leaving issues behind him!
He needs to play Pines and put Williams where he is most comfortable, then maybe our defence will become more solid.

Fair play to their manager. Hit on some truths for his side. Gives us credit too..
Also a fair point about uneven spread of games in Winter. Enjoyed the elation of a last minute winner, but overall it was a frustrating afternoon.

Just why dont they play more midweek games in September, October…?

    I didn’t see the game.
But with the sound of it Phillips COULD have just saved Collins his job.

Scoring in the last minute is yet another example that Collins gets the fight until the end attitude out of the players.
But the match itself doesn’t sound like it was a great watch.

    Watched the highlights.

The pass from Mael for the 1st goal was IMO the pass of the season so far.
And this from a centre back.
An example of what Barnsley are looking for when they sign centre backs.

Also - never been a Phillips fan - but if he continues to get forward from midfield like that then I can soon be converted.

After the Exeter defeat and the Bolton draw it was important to get back to winning ways.

A last minute winner always adds to the excitement of a victory.

Well done to Phillips for taking his chances well.

Had me thinking of the contrasting events/ emotions after the Play Off Final.

We lose to a last minute goal and Phillips is sent off. This time we score a last gasp winner and Phillips gets two goals.

If you wait long enough the roundabout will come back to you again.

Why doesn't football play in the summer months full stop Jules ?

What makes you think Collins job was in jeopardy given we've been in the top 6 all season and spent nowt ?

I know you only said “could have” but in my opinion there is no chance Collins would have lost his job had we lost yesterday. We aren’t Watford.

You are right about the fight in the players this season though. Last season once we went behind it was basically game over but this season the players keep going until the last second.

It shows how much the players are buying in to Collins given how McAtee and Roberts are both loan players yet celebrated the goals and full time winners like they were ours. Hopefully they both will be next season, although I feel McAtee is less likely to be here on a permanent basis.

I still think he will leave at the end of the season - promotion or no promotion.
But we’ve been through all that.
