    Weird concept.
Spot on. And then spend most of the last two seasons complaining about SS, publicly suggest a new man was coming in because SS wasn't good enough and then push him for goalkeeping coach.

I was puzzled too, by several people apparently suggesting that if we get a better keeper in, we should 'promote' the inadequate one to be his coach?

The problem with the goalkeepers doesn't seem to be the coaching but the overall ability. Stone isn't good enough. Not sure what Weal could do about that, unless he was pivotal in signing him.

Not in the model Notts have. They bring a couple of coaches in but they are expected to work with the staff in the club. The fact we've got rid of two members of staff screams of Montague trying to make him a success rather than accepting he's made a mistake

Wouldn’t it be worth waiting to see a/ where Weal ends up and b/ who we replace him with?
Goalkeeper coach, fitness coach and even a blooming set piece coach are not significant roles in a club set up and are certainly replaceable.
I will wait to see how the clubs structure looks. I wouldn’t be disappointed with Slocombe as a player/coach - allows extra funds to be spent on players.

Glad someone else thinks that. Just goes to show how important perception is. People are not bullish about Maynard and Montague therefore everything that happens under them is by default bad.

Would a new goalkeeping coach have to be a male, would a female one do the Job just has good

Provided the person has the required (proven, not paper) skill set it doesn't matter one jot who/what they are.

I'll certainly miss seeing him run down the touchline to rant at the linesman.
