I don't think it's a case of Dan refusing to sign a new contract, more what DC and his agent are asking for compared to what we can offer
Other clubs are likely to be making overtures with offers that are difficult for the player to ignore
None of us want to lose Dan but it's a difficult conundrum

I get that he's hot property, but if teams like Mansfield can swoop in and offer our best players something we can't, that's a worrying sign. I don't mind losing players to teams that are clearly of a different calibre to us, but I doubt that will be the case with Crowley. If he goes, it'll be to an average L1 side.

Mansfield can offer him a top 10 league place and (virtually) guaranteed L1 next season.

    That’s a start.

It's not just L1. One or two L2 sides have significant financial backing and ambition
Players are not fans, it's their job
Few of us would be any different in their position

Isn?t that because he?s closer than them? His situation seems exactly the same as Robertson and they were both pictured a couple of weeks back saying they were getting close, but no one?s said anything about Robertson downing tools. SM said the other day Crowley still has a very minor tear.

But Ruben scores the equaliser in the playoff final, so the risk kind of payed off. I tend to think if Crowleys does want to go we will sell though, we could sign a couple of decent players in Jan and still have a realistic chance of getting in the top 3. It?s not like when we were chasing Wrexham where we couldn?t slip up week on week and we maybe would have struggled to sign decent replacements in the NL.

He thinks he is too good for us, but remember, we signed him from Morecambe.
