Apologies in advance for not having read the whole thread. I have no preference between up and coming young hipster managers/coaches or those who are more experienced.

All I ask is that they know their @rse from their elbow and get the best from the resources at their disposal. I fully appreciate supporters looking at CVs and wondering what they offer.

At the same time I can think of a number of former Albion managers off the top of my head who brought us promotion without glittering managerial credentials.

One was an exceptional footballer. One was a very good footballer who scored in an FA Cup final. One was a decent enough midfielder known more for hard running and getting stuck in than for finesse and the other was a back to basics centre half.

None of them had outstanding coaching CVs prior to joining us but they all had three things in common. Potential. Someone took a chance on them. And they all have a promotion for West Bromwich Albion on their CV. One of them has two promotions for us.

Not in chronological order I know but Johnny Giles, RDM, Sir Gary Megson and Tony Mowbray please step forward. It's not where you start it's where you finish........ COYB 😎.
