On another note I read in the Sunday Times dated 12th January 2025 that there are currently 2.8 million people throughout the U.K. who are supposedly too ill to work.
In my opinion the DWP should checking up on all the long term sick notes issued by GPs throughout the U.K. and advising these 2.8 million who are supposedly too ill to work that they must attend an interview and medical assessment to find out if they are really too ill to work or not.
Just as big a problem is sick days in the public sector and working from home in the public sector.

You have hit the nail on the head as far as the public sector is concerned especially local authorities in Scotland.
On 12th November 2024 I received a notification email alert from Argyll and Bute Council that the General Waste Bin lorry on Islay had broken down and it was on the Mainland undergoing repairs which would take almost two weeks.
This was serious as thanks to the useless Argyll and Bute Councillors voting several years ago in favour of General Waste Bins only being emptied once every three weeks to prevent Climate Change the Islay residents would have their General Waste bin emptied once in 6 weeks.
That day whilst driving to Bowmore on Islay I happened to see the Argyll and Bute Council bin men emptying General Waste bins.
I immediately stopped my car and spoke to the bin men who told me that it was the Argyll and Bute Council recycling bin lorry which had broken down and was being repaired on the Mainland.
The Development and Infrastructure bosses in the Argyll and Bute Council HQ at Kilmory, Lochgilphead do not appear to know the difference between their General Waste bin lorry and their recycling bin lorry on Islay.

Who cares about Islay? Most of us live in Dundee which is located firmly within civilisation.
