I would imagine most people would at least agree privately (if not publicly) that if Maynard did get us promoted this season, Notts would probably end up needing to make a change by Xmas in order to have a decent chance of staying up.
I can't believe too many fans seriously think Maynard has got what it takes to go to head to head with the likes of Charlton, Reading and Bolton.

Promotion would almost certainly guarantee him another full time job elsewhere, so it would be a win-win if we go up and then somebody else comes in towards the end of this year and keeps us in L1.

If we don't go up this season, it's effectively two seasons Notts have wasted on him. To risk wasting a third season would be criminal. Seeing that they did sack Ardley, I'd be really shocked if the owners stuck with him in L2, especially with the new recruitment guy coming in who must already have his own ideas as to who might fill the role.

I can't believe that anyone thinks that having this type of poll at such an important stage of the season is going to help improve things in any way, can't it wait a couple of weeks before we have a vote that the brothers will probably not see or be interested in ?

Fans will turn up if the football is good, look at the NL attendances. If truth be told I?d rather watch us play exciting football in the NL than what is being served up recently.

Will SM turn it around? No.
Does he deserve until the end of the season? Yes.

The owners have set their stall out on the style of football we play, and whoever the manager is, he'll have to adopt the same style, and so it goes on. If it don't work fans can blame the next manager

So they'll sack him if he plays a slightly more rudimentary version and gets better results?

Of course they wouldn't. He's lucky we spend as long as we do with the ball because the little effort it typically takes to break us down we'd get fisted every week if we didn't pass it between Platt, Bedeau and No3.

The team has underperformed for the vast majority of the season particularly at home which was the same last season once SM had taken charge.

If he gets us promotion no way will he be sacked.
But if we miss out then he as to go, but getting rid now is ridiculous.

Maybe those who think he should go now, should show the strength of their feelings and take a principled stand and a financial hit by not renewing their season tickets at the bargain prices. That will show the brothers .
Absolutely pointless having a poll at this stage of the season whilst there is still a small chance.
It does nobody any good and wont make a blind bit of difference.
There will be less than 1% of the supporters taking part anyway.
Lets wait until the fat lady sings. Blame then will fall right along the line. Owners, CEO, Head of Recruitment , Manager, Coaches, Physios, Players and even Supporters.
