My apologies to Forest’s owner but I appear to have totally misread the reasons for his response after the Leicester game.

Does this not show that there is a problem with letting a game carry on after there’s a blatant offside?

Yes it does. This confusing rule leads to frustration among the fans and it doesn?t matter if it?s blatant or obvious, there is a waste of time while it?s sorted. It?s a rule brought in by those who haven?t a care for the flow of the game or the fan?s enjoyment of it.

Do you have information to the contrary?

Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi is in an induced coma after having the first phase of surgery on a serious abdominal injury.

The Nigeria international, 27, collided with the post in the 88th minute of the 2-2 draw against Leicester at the City Ground on Sunday as he attempted to get on the end of a cross from Anthony Elanga.

He had surgery on Monday night and remains in hospital, with the rest of the procedure set to be completed on Wednesday.

Could have been a sarky reply. Didn't the club say something similar to kebab man on Sunday with Nunes?

Being in an induced coma is often used as pain management after a major surgery. It is a bit of hyperbole from the media as it's an induced coma rather than just dropping into a coma so it's controlled but does go to show it was an awful injury

As far as I've heard, the media have all said it's an induced coma haven't they?

John Chiedozie's lad was put into an induced coma recently after he was struck by a car. Happily he's OK now, though the accident has ended his football career at 30.

A bit OT but I was reading a report a few weeks ago about Tommy Lawton playing on and finishing a game with concussion in one of his first home games after joining us. At full time he got back into the dressing room and then passed out. An ambulance was called, though by the time it arrived he was deemed well enough for them to just give him a lift home rather than take him to hospital.

Yes, what I am saying is, the media are emphasising the induced coma part rather than saying it is a normal part of the surgery for his injury. Big headlines saying player in induced coma and such, whilst not nice, it is part of the treatment for the pain management and to stop unnecessary movements that could cause complications.

This 'induced come', isn't it just a dramatic term for a deep, controlled sedation?
