It wasn?t a red from the moment of impact but can see why it was given from the perspective of he initially lunges with both feet. However, he?d been held back by the defender so had no other option if he stood a chance to win the ball. The ref called it wrong.
However, he?s then swung at a player and seemingly slapped one around the face. You just can?t do that. It played right into their hands and gifts a game plan to every team we play next season.

At the time, I was incensed that the ref had given a freekick TO THEM and not us. It didn't even occur to me that he'd send Jatta off. It wasn't a too footed challenge, he didn't touch the player, and he wasn't out of control. If he was out of control, he wouldn't have perfectly timed the tackle to win the ball and not touch the man.

As someone else said, Wimbledon have been really well protected. The guy pretending to be hurt and holding his face, of all things, is a disgrace. But the reason clubs like that go all-in for the ****housery is because it works. The amount of times they pulled our players' shirts across both legs was ridiculous. It was basically their default tactic if one of our players got away. The refs should have stamped it our early by booking them.

I agree about the shirt pulls. My impression was that they are organised and committed and pull shirts a lot to gain an advantage. I couldn't really tell you what else they do. Will be interesting watching them in the final aganst a neutral team to see if I think that without my black and white tinted glasses on.

Play acting happens every week and I actually thought when watching the game Smith was exactly what we need in our side, physicality, energy and decent on the ball.
The disappointing thing is Jatta gave the ref a decision to make, then slaps their player all when we have a second leg to go, ironically he?d been out muscled and timid at least since Christmas.
