Thread: Didzy Leaves Notts

Disappointing news but ultimately he has valued his worth and decided to leave. Most likely off to the franchise to renew old acquaintances and you just know what is going to happen when we meet next season……

So disappointed at this news. For whatever reason, Notts have lost the most gifted player in the league and that can never be a good thing. Very little creativity in the side now with the loss of David, Crowley, Abbott (albeit end of loan) and a Jones who is struggling to find his form again.

Notts were a hard watch last season. Recruitment is going to have to be a bit special to turn that around.

Rumour is, the Broz only offered him half the value of his existing contact. You can see their point, how many games is a 38yr old likely to play in a season? And of course, Ditzy wants to maximise his earnings in his last couple of seasons. I'm really disappointed if I'm honest, we've let prob our best asset go for the cost of 150,000 over a years budget? As you say, the Boyz need to get HC and player recruitment right, or this could come back to bite them on the boom.

We have problems now, no manager no creative or flair players apart from JJ this is a joke.
Cue the announcement from MK dons now to rub it in.
    'Circus show'?

    'Danish Bacon'?

Jeez. Haven't our owners earned a bit more respect than that? We clearly made him an offer we thought was reasonable, he turned it down. We move on. I'm not going to lose sleep about an injury prone 38 year old leaving. We can replace his 18 goals, it's League 2 FFS.

Injury prone? The man played 36 games at 37 years old putting more in than players 15 years his junior.

I'm disappointed he's going but it was entirely predictable that they would lowball him. Whilst I'm sure the fans appreciate 'value' and the club not spaffing money up the wall you're paying for that experience and skill level that none of the other players could come close to reaching and will be virtually impossible to replace with how tight the owners are.

Footballers speak and it won't be long before we're known in the same circle as Blackpool as being spendthrifts.

Not all the fans see the bigger picture (me included!). With all that's happened since New Year you would have to hope that they have a bl00dy good plan in their back pocket?

We had Didzy for two seasons and all that experience got us what exactly? He did some good things in the same way Shola Amoebi did when he came, but he had some stinkers too. No team in their right mind would make a 38 year old their best paid player (if the rumours are true). I am happy for the owners to be frugal. Long may it continue.

Remind when was the last time we paid cash for players? (Jatta, Jarvis, Traore) They have proved time and time again that they will spend IF they deem it good value. I don't think Didzy is any more.

Maynards sole attacking strategy was give it to Jodi/Crowley/Didzy and see what happens so it?s a shame we wont see McG with a coach who possibly knows what hes doing.

I would have liked to have seen him used how he was at Grimsby away, bring him on for half an hour work some magic, see if he could win us a tight game. I dont blame the club at all for not wanting to pay out biggish wages for an injury prone 38 yo, we will have to see whether it was the right decision or not.

it split on this, great talent but he?s 38, I imagine we?ve offered him 3k a week or something.
I certainly don?t think it?s time to panic about the squad, its still May, just.
