I also know that, had it kicked off during the cold war days, the military of certain Eastern Bloc nations were all but guaranteed to defect to the west. They never pushed the button as they know a button would be pushed from the other side, I visited a nuclear bunker in Poland near the Ukraine border a couple of years ago, they tell you the story how they believed they?d be attacked by the West
